It's at least something though mate. Might aswell put our club on the market for £1 with the debt, wage bills , future payments to players and issues we have going on. Maybe a larger anti short demonstration might confirm to him that he absolutely has no future here.

what? According to Sky Sources? I'm sure someone with £50million sat around is going to turn the tele on, switch SSN on, see that Jim White is telling everyone that Ellis wants £50million and pick up the phone to lodge an offer. The club have refused to comment.

the petition wants Ellis to make the sale his top priority. He's sat in f***ing Texas whilst Bain runs the show. Do we know he's actively looking for an offer? Is he waiting for an offer to arrive?What happens when that offer arrives in 3 years time when we're playing Luton in league 2?

there's nothing wrong with the petition like but folk will pick faults in everything so the OP was never going to please everyone.

Seems a tad pointless on a day when the for sale signs have gone up with a £50m price tag.

The last on the record thing Short said is that the club is no longer for sale.

I've gone back and reread the 'letter' from RAWA to properly consider it.

I have to say it's trying much harder to appeal to the supporters than it is Short.

We need all the supporters on side though mate and some aren't interested.

I think you are wrong there mate, I think a lot of people's motives for signing it are to get him to lower his price. If he decides to do that, who knows what type of owners we could get in, and even though most people think it isn't possible, they could be much worse than Short.

Then it's a stick or twist scenario a suppose. Without knowing who they are or their background, we as fans in general wouldn't know, as we don't mix in those circles. This atm is pitiful though and the club is literally on its last legs in front of our eyes.

But maybe it might discourage a potential interested party if they see our owner sitting in a public video saying “the club is no longer for sale.”

He needs to clarify his intentions. The club is a complete joke and we are on our knees. We need new ownership so badly and yet his last public pronouncements are wittering on about being 7th in the PL and the club not being for sale.

If the club is for sale, come out and say it. Looks to me as if some leaking to Simon Bird went on. Just come out and tell us properly, FFS.

It wasnt long ago he wanted £150m for the club if he didnt waste a good year or two with nonsense like that then he may have had a sale...

No it's not. If, as looks likely, we go down the club will not die, it will "just" be in the third tier, which will represent the lowest point in the clubs history (assuming we don't win the league), but the club won't be dead. The club will die if the (external) debt isn't cleared, which at the moment is more important than the club's league position. Plenty of big clubs (ourselves included) have went down to the 3rd tier and bounced back and it looks like that's what we are going to have to do. IMO, this could have been avoided, not through spending money, but employing the right manager. We haven't employed the right manager, and now it looks like we are going to have to pay the price.

IMO, all these fans wanting to "do something" should, if they are stay aways, get themselves back to the SOL and put some money into the club (it doesn't go to Short), because the club is going to need that money to get out of it's current predicament.

Well, then it puts any interested parties on notice and away we go with negotiations and a potential deal. There is obviously no guarantee of any deal even then but we have a much better chance if Short’s intentions are made publicly clear that he wants to sell. At the moment, we just look like a joke. Coleman saying one thing, Short saying another and Simon bloody Bird jumping on the bandwagon. Amateur hour. Then again, this is SAFC.

The problem is that investors who have no affinity with English football will just overlook us now, especially if/when we drop into League 1. The people with more money than sense who want to pile it into football want a Premier League side, they may go for a Championship side with aspirations for going up, not a League 1 side with a conference squad.

We'll struggle in league 1 next season with the current regime still here. I wouldn't fancy us against any team in league 2 atm. That's a club on its last legs imo. I think we have a capable manager here now, but he's only human and trying to stem this negativity that is riddled through the club, is almost impossible without change at the very top. I agree with your last paragraph. This staying away as not putting money in shorts pocket stuff, is very narrow sighted and not the way to go about it at all. People saying that aren't going because they don't want too, not in protest.

You really think that we are getting relegated because we hired the wrong manager and that the way to stay up would be for the fans to attend games? I.e. our plight is all the managers and the fans fault?
