On the Saturday that Stewart got injured at Fulham, if we’d been told there wouldn’t be an established forward signed with 48hrs to go of the summer transfer deadline I doubt Speakman would be allowed to enter the city of Sunderland never-mind be the sporting director of the football club.

If the day we’d signed Stewart, we’d been told two and a half years later the only senior centre forwards we’d signed were two 18 year old lads that have hardly kicked a ball what would we have said?

So....reinvest 2,080,000,000 at 4% over 4 months is additional 6.368 million.
So that'll make it a 6 million striker incoming in January..... waiting, waiting 😞
 
Probably could have got Cannon for £5m two months ago, had him nicely bedded in for the start of the season....would have put us in a stronger position to demand a higher fee for Rosco.

Everton weren't prepared to sell until they got some strikers in. They finally got one last week. That's why he's available now.

Have a look on some of the other threads. There are people defending it. Presumably they think that penny pinching on this scale is acceptable solely because the owner isn’t Donald and Methven. If it were those two running the show and we were carrying on like this, there’d be lynch mobs forming at the AOL.

As it is they’ve swallowed the “model” bullshit.

Oh he will deliver a CF ,question is will he be a starter.Or injured,cannot speak English,needs time to settle,will see the best of him next season,doesnt like Jacky Whites market.

Fans won't accept another 'One for the future'
They should be no doubting that we need someone to come into the starting 11 and improve us.
We are already considerably weaker than we were last season. Surely they can't be stupid enough to authorise the sale of Stewart this late in the window?
