I can only see a loan or one of those signings where you have to google him and pretend you’ve heard of him.

I think the plan was for us to have a young striker in a week or so ago and then wait on Simms. There are a million reasons that might not have happened. Sooner the better, but we can’t allow other clubs and agents to take the piss.

Delap went to Preston, Ipswich have signed 2, Archer to Boro. Strikers are moving. Maybe we don’t get someone we’re totally convinced by, but we need someone.

One league match left before the window ‘slams shut’ and Fifteen days to get stuff sorted.

Spot on. In addition teams are involved in promotion and relegation battles and this time off year teams don't want to sell strikers (at least their decent ones) unless you pay over the odds.
