So, I need some stuff for my burgeoning cricket career.

And as I'm too lazy to travel the 4.1 miles to Sports Direct/JJB over the water, I plan to do this online.

Where's good and relatively cheap online?

I know of Barrington Sports and Morrant, anywhere else worth a go?

Cheers.

I have a coupl of cheap bats for sale for 20quid and 4 others for 50quid. I'll bring them on thursday

I've a spare bat for sale if yer wanting something decent and cheap? Online try http://www.cricketdirect.co.uk/ .

I used these to get most of my gear for this year, they are alright, but their delivery tajes a long time. I don't know were you live mate, but just sport in Newcastle is the best place to go, especially if your looking for a bat, always pays to actually have a feel and pick up of a bat before you buy one.

Aye, they're the same company as HockeyDirect who have been woeful the two times I've used them, so probably not use them.

Not really after a bat atm, was more just whites and maybe some pads/shoes (at the right price). But aye, if one tickles my fancy, don't see why not.

And in relation to trousers - If I'm a medium in one company, will I be a medium in another? Are they pretty similiar?

They have gear from a few retailers here.

If your getting a bat they are best bought on feel though !

Aye, I will be buying a bat in person, just after some of the other stuff atm.

Just bought some Kookaburra slacks from JJB for £7.49. Which is rubbish as I used to be sponsored by them and would have paid half that :(

Did someone mention we needed a scorebook or something?

There's one for a quid on the JJB site - http://www.jjbsports.com/slazenger-academy-scorebook/cricket-accessories/shop/fcp-product/6967

You can collect in store free of charge, that's what I'm doing with the slacks.

Aye, dinnit worry, I'm not going to be spending a load on gear just yet. Whites are essential though and I was thinking of getting these as they look pretty - http://www.barringtonsports.com/pro...quantum_3_star_batting_gloves_2010/12933/view

Might give them a go if I decide to buy them gloves.

Why is it so hard to find a decent priced short sleeved shirt?

i have some pads and gloves you can have for £10.. kookaburra pads are only 1 year old, slazenger gloves 2 years old. i could drop them off tomorrow night if you wanted.

Struggling to find a decent/cheap short sleeved playing shirt. Any ideas? Like the Canterbury one, but don't really want to pay £25...

decent and cheap are a rarity with whites as they just don't have a sell by date unlike bats etc. Your best bet is ebay
