Community Shield brought me right back down to earth.Earlier was watching highlights of last years premier league season. The quality was frightening.we will need more up front.
How do you know it’s bull ?Some bloke on x saying he’s failed his medical

Maybe because he's 28 years old and Spanish clubs are skint except for R Madrid.£10m seems like a low fee (not that I’m complaining). Didn’t somebody share that he was in team of the season last year in la liga?
Anyone know why he’s so cheap?
Agree with thisThis. Whilst we all want to be positive, being realistic we aren't signing complete nailed on quality players in all cases. Some have a lot of room for development and are making large steps up. The depth behind that is quite limited too.
I'd love a season where we breeze survival but I do wonder if some are getting a little carried away as we've made what is, for us, bigger signings. Realistically if we're in the dogfight for survival right at the end we'll have done better than most the country and world of football expect.
Bc he started trolling when someone took him up on itHow do you know it’s bull ?
Agree with this
It seems crazy compared to last time we came up. Totally different world.
In our first game we handed debuts to Paul McShane and Dickson Etuhu, had Anthony Stokes and Daryl Murphy upfront, whitehead and nosworthy in the team.
There was only really Yorke and Richardson with any top flight pedigree.
And we beat spurs, and stayed up.
Ok southern maggieThe PL is such a different beast. £10m likely gets you only a very average player at best and that’s the shop we’ve been buying in mostly.
We’ve also brought in a lot of signings now and that may change the dynamic of the team spirit and it will be a huge job bringing them together into a team that’s competitive so quickly,
We have hope but I think we all know the first 5 games will tell us so much about whether we have any chance of making a real fist of this.
Hadaway man. He gets paid more than enough to have family either live with him, or to come up for weeks/months at a time. Can’t blame him, must be pretty boring being up here injured all the time with no family close by!
Agree with this. Unless his wife is a nuclear physicist working specifically with the Netherlands power infrastructure I don’t see why they’re over there unless he doesn’t expect to stay.Hadaway man. There are many "team of the season" assembled by different sources, some have him there, some have the CB from Barcelona instead, in any case he's one of the top 3-4 CB's from last season in La Liga and comes from the 4th best defence in Spain:I heard someone earlier mention he wasn't in the actual La Liga team of the season but one of the online ones. Like with Triantis iirc.
I was only 15 but I remember being quite excited when we got promoted as I thought we’d have the money to sign all these big players but it proved extremely difficult to get them here. As you say there was only really Richardson that really got me excited that summer.Agree with this

Wont this be the first player we’ve spent less than 20m on? Not including Xhaka. The PL is such a different beast. £10m likely gets you only a very average player at best and that’s the shop we’ve been buying in mostly.

I can't believe we stayed up with that squad and now it's hard to stay up with the best GK in the Dutch league, a CB that was in the Spanish team of the season, best LB in Turkey only as a back-up, Strasbourg's captain, best CM from the 2nd best German team etc.Agree with this

Announcement today or tomorrow given he flew in for the medical yesterday, you'd assume. So has he signed yet ?
