No idea about other nationalities. Queues are shit as well unless you get a 'meet and greet' arranged in advance.

I’ve been loads of times, it is the nicest city in the Middle East and has a Mediterranean feel with it’s low level buildings. The Omani’s are generally very nice people. You could go down the old souk. Most Westerners visit the Wadi’s or just chill at the luxurious hotel resorts. Beautiful weather and a very chilled laid back atmosphere.

There are some very nice restaurants and 5 star hotels, in fact I was there this time last year for a break with my family.
