Even when Brits have been successful, it's hasn't been very emphatic, I mean, that Andy Murray took three sets to beat some Swiss bloke in the tennis and that Mo Farah had to run 10000m before he won his race... compare this to Usain Bolt; he had won his race after 100m. :evil:

Greg Rutherford won his gold in less than 9 metres but had this beaten by the 3 m divers and the high jumper who got his gold for just over 2m.

The problem with the swimming was that our swimmers were placed in an alien environment... there were no squealing toddlers bouncing about in arm bands and no incredibly obese / geriatric people doing the breast stroke / swimming widths at 0 mph upsetting the rhythm of the swimmers. If the Olympic pool had replicated British training facilities, we'd have romped to a bucketload of Golds!
 
Isn’t it a load of bollocks that Great-Britain is competing as Great-Britain at the Olympics, in stead of England, Wales, Northern-Ireland, Scotland each as a separate nation like in football and rugby cups etc. Why is that ?
