Its ridiculous that someone who has been to 10 games this season is now behind someone who bought a UK member

I'm a season ticket holder but have to wait to phase 2 for my friends
I have friends who are genuine match going fans but without season tickets but selfishly I don't think I'll risk waiting for phase 2 as no guarantee. 2nd time the club have shown their greed over Wembley, although last time they did back track it was a mess.

Nobody seems to know if I can use my season ticket in phase 1 for myself, then buy additional in phase 2 for my mates?
I'm not sure either. Will get mine in 1 and if I can get mates it's a bonus ...although I shouldn't have to.they should be entitled to get their own.

People are stating this as fact...is it fact?

How many memberships were sold?

SC + total memberships COULD be more than the allocation?
Everyone in phase 1 is guaranteed thus not many must have joined New membership which I suggest highlights that people didn't know about it.

Everyone knew the International and UK memebership gave you a priority for games like this.

Will always be a flaw in how they dish them out and can see people's grievances but the club were very vocal over this fact.

I do feel a bit for non season card holders who go on a match by match basis but at the same time, I don’t know why those people wouldn’t want to take out a membership anyway when it was said from the start it would help with priority for cup finals, awaydays etc after season card holders are looked after. Is a bit odd mind this time how memberships are lumped in with season card holders, the first phase should be for season card holders only.

That said with the allocation and amount of people who said they can’t afford to go again I think anyone who wants a ticket will be able to get one.

Anyone no how you add another another member to your Ticketmaster account so you can get seats next to each other ?

For anyone asking about the UK Membership Scheme it was launched in March before we went to Wembley the last time. They made it very clear purchasing this membership would give you priority for Wembely tickets after season ticket holders. Aye they were obviously cashing in and people may not like it but it was made clear enough at the time.

'Following on from the success of its international membership scheme, Sunderland AFC is launching a brand-new membership scheme for supporters based in the United Kingdom, who are unable to commit to a season card.

The UK membership, which allows fans to demonstrate their support for the club and enjoy some great benefits, will be split into two categories comprising of an adult membership and a concession membership (under 18/over 65).

Members who sign up to the seasonal membership package, which runs until 30 April 2020, will enjoy benefits including priority access to away tickets and cup fixtures, including any future finals and play-offs (after season card holders) and more.

The UK membership package includes:

  • Priority access to away tickets before general sale (after the Black Cat Point priority period)
  • Join the Black Cats Points scheme, with any points accrued then added to a future season card purchase
  • Priority access to cup fixtures, including any future finals and play-offs (after season card holders)
  • A match ticket for a home league game of your choice for just £10
  • 10% off safcstore.com for first online purchase
  • Exclusive membership card
Executive director, Charlie Methven, said: “Following the successful launch of our international membership scheme, we quickly focussed our attention on how we could give our UK-based fans, who are unable to commit to a season card, the opportunity to cement their commitment to the club.

“We have over 24,000 season card holders who are our lifeblood, but our support isn’t simply limited to the North East, and from Penzance to John O’Groats, I’ve quickly learnt that wherever you are in the world, you are never far away from a massive Lads fan.

“The UK membership will give those fans a chance to show their loyalty, while also being recognised as passionate supporters.”

An adult SAFC UK membership is available for £40 and a concession (under 18/over 65) is £25.'
In reply to the text highlighted in blue "Following on from the success"? What they mean is due to the UK fans buying the International passes as a back door to the Checkatrade Final, we'll just open it up to everyone to jump the 'loyalty' queue and let's ignore those who don't commit to season tickets but go to home and away matches and have purchase history as they're not as loyal ;)

I'm all for the membership but even the last bit is a bit of a piss take. I suppose someone in the club thinks it's better to make money out of the fans knowing fine well there was a chance we'd get to Wembley again.

The club in fairness have listened to what a lot of exiles and international supporters have wanted. A way to build their points for away games without having a season card. That if I’m correct was the main idea for it and is a good idea when implemented going forward for next season.
I’m not sure it was the right idea to use this membership scheme for play off final but had it been implemented much earlier on in the season it’s benefit would have been seen more, come the checkatrade. I understand people’s arguments as it’s also mine. Having not held a season card for coming up to 4 years, I was keen to secure mine at the time most were renewing so the membership would be pointless for me. Thanks to the kind members on this board I’m sure I’ll secure a couple. What I won’t do this time around is pay the 500 plus quid I paid for two tickets for the checkatrade. That was my choice of course and I could have kept the money back for this, but who knew?
