ODI World Cup

They looked cooked the Aussies so we have to better one of the 4 so far unbeaten teams I reckon with need 6 wins.

Can see us wining Sunday, also Sri Lanka & Netherlands. After Sunday 2 key games v South Africa who have looked good so far and India.

Before our final 3 still a worry the form of some Woakes & Curran with the ball and Livingstone & Brook with the bat Stokes still looked miles off the other day fitness wise.
Pakistan look the least convincing of the current top 4 for me

Imagine if Australia failed to make the semis.

That would be the cricket and Rugby Union WCs they miss out on.

I'm laughing just thinking about it.

This tournament has been so disappointing so far.

The Hundred was better.
100 up in 21 overs, these two making a fist of it.

NZ will piss whatever they need to chase though.

Glad we don't have to play at Chennai

The Bangladesh spinners might still have something to say in this game. Though if they'd been bowling first more so, losing the toss was a blow.

Mushfiqur gone. Bandgladesh will be all for less than 250. It would be great to have a close finish, one of these days.

Been poor viewing this morning. Still waiting for the stand out game which lights up the tournament. Cant's see anything but a resounding India win tomorrow too, unless the Pak bowlers decide to turn up.

Fingers crossed, even if they don't win, giving the kiwis a bloody nose will be enough for me.

I can see why you say that. An over reliance on the top order, bowlers who look unfit and haven't that snap of their wrist, no quality spinner and the fieldings not been great either. Which is a shame because they looked to be in white hot form not so long ago in all 3 disciplines. Just shows, the world cup can bring out the nerves in the former no.1 odi team too.

Still, they have won both their games whilst looking under par. Different kettle of fish tomorrow, they will have to bring their A game just to compete.

I've been a defender of 50 overs cricket for years now, against those who argue that the short game is represented totally well by T20. But I do find my ardour being tested by this tournament. So many of the games have been marked by the lingering death of one of the sides.

I haven’t got formal stats for this but I think this has been a growing problem in 50 over cricket for about 15 years since first the kiwis and then England developed the modern “twat it from the off and if you lose wickets twat it harder” approach.

Quite. I think also that, over time, T20 has shown itself to be less ‘tip and run’ than we may have thought, initially. Some of these games are just plain dull.
