ODI World Cup

You're a better man than me mate, and I'm glad there's people as impartial as you on the board, it makes for great debate.

I've not been enamoured with the Indian cricket as much as you. There has been a lot to admire in their cricket. Their batting has been superb and fearless and seam bowling surprisingly has been their best suit. However, I'll stop short of pronouncing them the best team there has ever been. The deck has been stacked in their favour from the start. Home advantage, doctored pitches etc. This is the 1st world cup which I've felt has had no neutral feel to it at all. It's felt like an Indian bilateral series or something. Add to the fact no Pakistani fans or media were even allowed to travel, meant even that smashing victory against them was a hollow one for me. Then there's the shitehousing. Completely insulting the Dutch like that, was not needed. They aren't the actions of champions for me.

I'm definitely in #NotTeamIndia
Yeah great post mate, don’t disagree with any of that and totally get where people come from.

That doesn’t change however even taking into account your good and valid points, they have played the best cricket on the field in this tournament by far, and like I said earlier don’t think it’s too far to say it’s been one of the most dominating performances if not the most by any team in any sport in a major tournament.

I guess what you and other people are saying is that because everything has been in their favour that kind of devalues the achievement which I can see up to a point.

Last three tournaments have been won by the hosts and India look odds on to make it four in a row. Away victories in test series between two strong sides are rarer than hens teeth these days as well.

Home advantage is a big deal in cricket, home pitches especially, and the English scarcely in a position to complain with the three day finish green seamers that they used to produce, purely down to the weather you know old boy, until Baz decided it was in our interest to produce truer pitches and the weather suddenly started allowing it.
