Objectively Should This Team Be Doing Better

What wingers? We've not been playing with any on the pitch for weeks.
Yeah and there’s that. In Medford Le fee has one goal from open play, Diarra 2, xhaka has one defected goal, sadiki 0. This amazing midfield can’t score for toffee

The part that a lot of people miss is that we're good defensively because of our defensive structure, not because of our defenders.

We've tried to have a bit more attacking intent the last 2 weeks and our midfield has opened right up and the defence can't function properly without those reinforcements from midfield.

It's a bit of a conundrum because it's not as easy as just letting the handbrake off next season and attacking more.
Possibly, but before a month or so ago we were one of the best defensive teams in the league. During the game tonight, sky said since a certain date we’ve been one of the worst. However at the other end nothings really still happening, not radically anyway.

No.

We shouldn't have been ina relegation battle, were roundabout the top of what could reasonably expected.

According to betting market match odds, we're the third weakest team in the league. Shown again today by the fact forest were slight favourites for most of the week. At a neutral ground they would def have been favourites.

If you're looking at league position then objectively this team should be doing worse!

I think mid table is about right. at times theyve gone all out and over achieved. at others collapsed. we need a striker. a real goal scorer. brobbey is a tank to take damage and pull them apart, not a finisher. if we can find a finisher, its game on

Not convinced. Our defence and midfield are quality when on form but the attacking options generally aren't great

I think you have to blame the manager for that tonight, though. Completely blunted the left-hand side.

How do you expect a Premier League team to trouble a defence without an overlapping full back and central midfielder filling in front?

Also by most of the underlying data we are overperforming.

You could put prime Ronaldo up front in this team and it wouldn’t matter. Where’s the service?

If we take off the newly promoted tag and pretend that Roefs, Sadiki, Le Feè and Brobbey are good enough for Chelsea, Man United, Arsenal and Bayern then aye they're underperforming.

If you look at what they actually are and look closely at the talent in this league, 14th is probably about right.

I reckon 7 of those tonight will get enquiries/offers from Champions League teams in the Summer.

Two only won’t because of their age but Xhaka and Reineldo have the quality.

We bought well during the summer but the team isn't better than most of the other teams in the league. Sure if you looked at player valuations we would be comfortably in the bottom half.
We bought well but we still have the cheapest assembled squad in the league. Think we missed a big chance in January on the back of our good start.

True but in the first 20 mins or so there was maybe 3 or 4 times we could have scored, or at at least shot, and didnt. point stands though, regardless of service, in my lifetime weve had phillips and defoe as genuine top class finishers. weve been looking for a goalscorer ever since. briefly with ross stewart but shit level

Why have we tried to be more attacking? Is the coach under pressure from above?

To be very successful in okayer trading you generally need to play good football.

Where’s the service though? Prime R9 would struggle to score consistently in this side
