Drive 30 mins south to the Isle of Seil & take the five minutes ferry from Ellenabeich across to the lovely island of Easdale and go wild swimming in the old slate pit pools. It's fantastic:

This place is so beautiful. We did a Seafari from there and went out on a rib boat. We saw a ton of wildlife, including turning the boat off and hovering over a bait ball, while birds dive bombed into the sea around us to catch the fish. That was amazing.

Inverary Castle is canny if they like castles.

Was there last year, we took them on the Harry Potter train but that’s a little drive further north and not sure it runs anymore. Other than a boat trip there wasn’t much for them to do tbf. Sea life centre was shut when we were there.

My mistake, replaced by the Ocean Explorer Centre. Free to visit it says, with a nice cafe
That is good , it's part of the university I think wee bit more science than aquarium
You can just go to mull as a round trip as a foot passenger , go on the boat , great views, often seen dolphins on the crossing and there was an otter just swimming about at craignure last time we were there. If you want get off buses at ferry terminal will take you to tobermory. Car bookings are hard to get at short notice so the buses are a bit more convenient

It’s bleak to say the least this time of year. The drive won’t be fun either. Apart from that. Enjoy.
Saying that there’s a paper shop where the lass as a cracking set of norks. Worth a look.

The Seafari trips are class. Last summer we were going through the Corryvreckan and had a sea eagle circling directly overhead whilst porpoises swam near our boat.

We stay in a vegan B&B called Garragh Mhor which is in Ellenabeich, the beautiful little village where Seafari sail from and it's bliss, so much so we've booked a return stay this summer.

Was there last month, done a whisky flight for £25 and bought a bobble hat.

Quite a few boaty/navy under water people live around there, Faslane not far away.

Ex lass parents lived up there so had a few visits. Lovely place mind, stunning scenery. Treat like and alien when you went in the boozers and they cottoned on to you accent. Local drunks would sit next you you waffling for about ten minutes while you nodded politely whilst having no idea what they were talking about
