I mean 1,428 posts on average a year..... Pretty much bordering on weird.

My posts on Newcastle forums? 0.

I only check this thread for a good chuckle aswell
You're a Jets fan though, so we all have our issues. ;)

I've not seen this anywhere at all?
You must not do twitter in that case. Fair number of your Brethren are gutted that the takeover hasn't happened and you are also not joining the ESL, where you belong. You may be grounded but a fair number of your fans aren't.

You have to wonder if the Saudis knew about this and was why they wanted to purchase them lot. They could potentially have got the money they paid for the club back straight away.

The deluded one is obviously clueless in the economics of football. I am doubtful that this ESL will go through and believe it is just posturing to secure more money. Playing devils advocate it is very difficult for a business to plan when its earnings are so sensitive to not qualifying for the ECL. In addition the sums of money are so astronomic (e.g. 500m to buy and pay Haaland) that it is a huge business risk to sign him then suffer a loss of form. So I do see the logic. Even the new 36 team CL page proposal has "merit places".

If this goes through there will be a seismic shift in the economics of English football - the value of the TV deal will plummet, the wealth owners of Villa, Wolves, Leicester will no longer be willing to bank roll the teams with the prospect of qualifying for some European B league and the Championship clubs paying 100%+ of turnover in wages will no longer take that risk leaving traditionally well supported teams (EFC, AVFC. LUFC, WHUFC, NUFC, SAFC, WWFC) with large gate money, in prime position. More significantly, NUFC would not be worth 350m.

This is huge but I doubt it will happen.

a couple of lucky wins and he’s back out from underneath his rock.

The most vile fan base in the land are in takeover overdrive again comparing the big six behaviour as worse than those who were trying to buy their club last year.

Can’t remember the last time Daniel Levy ordered the chopping up of a journalist.

I suspect there will be a “bonfire of the vanities” from this and American owners may try and discard their assets that cannnot be commoditised like they thought.

If so simple economics dictates that if there are more sellers and buyers, prices go down.

Ashley will squirm at that. He still might try and claim his hollowed out shell of a football club represents value but I cannot see anybody buying.

A bit like his retail empire he is sitting on assets that are “fundamentally” worth less as each month goes by,

Wait until Liverpool and Man Utd are available to buy, as if they'd buy them scruffy twats.

Dunno if it’s as simple as that given that everything is signed legally it’s just this arbitration that they’re fighting.

Plus the price for Man U and Liverpool will probably be in the billions vs what them would cost

A middle eastern friend, who works in Saudi, told me sometime ago and way before the #cans etc. that MUFC and LFC were the Saudi's target purchases. It would seem this ESL has been on the table for quite sometime which may explain why neither have been sold in the interim. With that off the table now perhaps Glazers and Henry will look to cash out. The NUFC purchase doesn't sit right with me as they are obsessed with being the best.

I suppose that common sense dictates that if you have pretty much unlimited funds you want the biggest, best and most well known, and if your agenda includes a good old sportswashing then you would obviously target MUFC and LFC first. If they arent available at the time you move down the list.

I doubt the first choice they came up with were a run of the mill yo yo team who in global terms hardly anyone has heard of and even less give a fuck about.
