I'm usually quite happy fo let things ride and leave you all to bicker, but this deserves a response.Lots of these replies on here have the same comments....."I have it on good authority / A mag I work with says that blah blah blah /A friend of a friend who walked Rafa's dog heard it from the horses mouth / A bloke down the pub etc etc etc".
Then the best of all... "Rafa got you relegated / Rafa fucked off to China / All mags almost wank over Rafa"........the facts are, 1 He was brought in to late to save us from relegation, 2 He only started negotiation's/visa application when it was clear Fat Mike wasn't going to offer assurances/money etc, 3 He was best manger we've had since Robson and the only people who keep banging on how we supposedly worship the guy is sad Sunderland fans.

3. Erm, no. Just look at the state of some of your brethren on here and other social media. It's embarrassing man.
You're like a broken record man stop embarrassing yourself and log offPardew only have that one season? Benitez had the same players did he?
Silly boy.
Over the years we brought in a load of managers who saved us with less than 10 games remaining.Lots of these replies on here have the same comments....."I have it on good authority / A mag I work with says that blah blah blah /A friend of a friend who walked Rafa's dog heard it from the horses mouth / A bloke down the pub etc etc etc".

This is a pretty well-established fact.
The bloke had just shy of a third of the season and a few points to make up with everyone down there to play. He failed miserably and took them down. Journo on the radio the other day said Maclaren took them down. Look North KoreaOver the years we brought in a load of managers who saved us with less than 10 games remaining.
The best manager since bobby robson got you relegated and a highest midtable finish. Massive club
This is a pretty well-established fact.
It's also not that unusual in the footballing world. That's why they have agents.
So by that token does it mean Sam Allardyce's achievements weren't that good at all and he almost failed by not keeping you up sooner? The bloke had just shy of a third of the season and a few points to make up with everyone down there to play. 10 games to be exact......3 wins 4 draws and 3 defeats which were games 1/2/4The bloke had just shy of a third of the season and a few points to make up with everyone down there to play. Dont mention horses to a mag ffsHe could bore an arsehole into a wooden horse.
Right, but this is where I don't get it.He did keep us up though...
Unlike Rafa
You were a point behind us in 17th place with 9 games left. Considering your point 3 he should have got you out of it but he didnt, therefore he was shite and only managed to get you out of the Championship because the guy you hate gave him millions to spend. Stop embarrassing yourself you utter clownLots of these replies on here have the same comments....."I have it on good authority / A mag I work with says that blah blah blah /A friend of a friend who walked Rafa's dog heard it from the horses mouth / A bloke down the pub etc etc etc".

Right, but this is where I don't get it.
Either Allardyce did a fantastic job, or Rafa did a shit job, it can't be both.
He took 13 points from those 10 games, Allardyce took 9 from his first 10.
Even if he'd beat Villa we'd have gone down on goal difference. I don't contest he 'took us down' but I can also acknowledge he took on a really big ask to keep us up and basically needed to go on a pretty mental winning run. Maybe I'm just from a different generation, but outside of derbies I don't really have much of an issue acknowledging the good and bad of Sunderland,.
If they had managed to stay up would McClaren have got the credit? No he wouldn't.The bloke had just shy of a third of the season and a few points to make up with everyone down there to play.
