Think it was pat Nevin talking about moyes (who has been a friend of his since 12) last night "moyes is a great manager he did excellent at Preston, Everton..... Yeah the man United thing he was harshly treated"
Completely skipped us and his threatening to slap lasses out of it.

Doesn't sound like he skipped Sunderland. Sounds like he went in chronological order. Preston-Everton-Man United.
Whether they stay up or go down depends entirely on Wilson to me.
If he gets 20ish goals they stay up imo.

Won't happen. Won't be the deciding factor either. Wilson could score 4 more goals in four 1-0 wins and we'd be safe.

You can't keep clean sheets. Back line is absolutely crap. I think it will come down to scoring goals...

Preston Everton man United then West ham, got it. thanks.

He joined when we were shit and he was still a very good footballer, he scored loads, got us promoted and connected with the fans. Then, as a manager, he joined us when we were shit, got us scoring loads playing great football, got us promoted, connected with the fans, took us from almost relegated to what is now League 1, to genuinely challenging for the top flight title. Plus his familial connection with the club. Of course Keegan is adored by Newcastle fans, it would be weird if he wasn't.

Robson turned us from midtable mediocrity into a genuine title challenging side, playing some great football, with really exciting young players. Connected with the fans in a way not seen since Keegan. Plus his familial connection with the club.

If Henderson retires from playing, becomes your manager and lifts you back to the Premier League, without winning a single proper trophy, there'd be calls for him to get a statue and you're lying to yourself if you think that's not true.
😂😂😂 Definitely not lying to myself when I say that's absolute rubbish.

Next time don't leave out key details. You're welcome.
I don't think he will do it but I reckon he's your best chance to stay up.

If you have quality at the top end of the pitch you always have a chance.

Saying that, Defoe didn't save us.

Sheffield United are gone. The WBA are going looks like they're gone. They've actually got worse under Allardyce. But I wouldn't write them off.
Other than that we are the worst team in the league over the last 5, 8, 10 games... however you wanna look at recent form.
We'll be very close to relegation. Absolutely terrible.
If Fulham win tonight we are only 4 clear.
If Brighton win tonight we are still 7 clear but drop to 17th. Everton at the weekend.

If we sack Bruce soon we may turn it round.

Honestly, I think the Robson statue was as much about commemorating a great man who had tragically passed, as it was commemorating his 'successes' as Newcastle manager. He was a great ambassador for the region, and a statue at St James' feels fitting for him.

No. Just like we don't have a statue for Hughton, or Benitez and nor would they get one.

No chance of getting the sack until relegation goes from possible to probable. No chance of him walking, at all.

Fair enough well put

Can I ask. At what point in the last 70 odd years, have they been seen as being an elite club? The position they are in now is normal for them. How have they fallen? Surely they've consolidated their rightful place? Morons the lot of them.

Bruce isn't a quitter (in his own words) despite quitting every job he's ever had until Sunderland sacked him iirc, and others since. I fully expect him to hang on at Newcastle for a pay off, meanwhile the Newcastle fans will grow increasingly frustrated with his excuses. I honestly think if crowds were allowed in stadiums and he was having to face fans giving him stick he would have came out with "I can't change the fact I used to manage Sunderland, the fans have never taken to be because of that".

Has he stood at the touchline with his hands in his pockets, looking down at his feet for inspiration yet?

I dunno why i disagreed tbf, cos I think we will be relegated.
Certainly won't be 20 goals for Wilson.

Nah - I think if anyone gets sucked towards the current bottom 3 it will be Crystal Palace. Their defending is atrocious and they look a bit shell shocked, like a team that's in free fall
