Look at the team that beat Sours (3-1-when Bent missed two penalties), arguably the best SAFC SOL performance outside the 4-1 thrashing of Chelsea under Reidy and ask “why did it just disintegrate?”.I never wanted him at Sunderland not cos he was a mag but because I never thought he was very good. Keane pipped him to the Championship despite brum having a 5 game head start and a settled squad. I was gutted when we effectively chose him as Keane’s replacement as it felt like a backwards step. He had the best chance of any SAFC manager in terms of resources in my lifetime and the best he could manage was a flukey 10th.
Yeah it was a good performance that. Could have been 5 or 6 easy. Just looking at the team on statcat and ferdinand, da silva, meyler and Campbell all started and they weren’t really regulars at the time. Bruce seemed to get carried away every transfer window though so we never had any real continuity.Look at the team that beat Sours (3-1-when Bent missed two penalties), arguably the best SAFC SOL performance outside the 4-1 thrashing of Chelsea under Reidy and ask “why did it just disintegrate?”.
Careful now.Bruce seemed to get carried away every transfer window though so.....
Freddie Shepherd said “it was like sacking Bambi”. Then they built a statue to him and made him an icon where in truth Ipswich is his true club where he made his name and did the most.As was Bobby Robson at the end
A perfect summary.
The worst thing about Bruce towards the end was when he started to blame the supporters for everything and I mean everything.
I can't remember who we were playing at home but we nearly conceded a goal to counter attack after piling too many players forward, after the game Bruce said that's the fault of the crowd for getting the players too excited who got too far forward and it nearly cost us.
I also recall an away game when he played 5 defenders and 5 midfielders (it might have even been a 4-6 formation) with a striker or two left on the bench, we lost without scoring a goal.
It's never his fault and now he has turned on the players in a big way today, he's finished now like as the players will throw him under the bus.
Could be amusing who fat Mike brings in next, what's Pardew up to these days?
The most hated NUFC manager ever and by a long way too. He was never welcome from day 1...
Didn’t happen though did it . According to themWhat? worse than Joe Kinnear, Alan Pardue, Sam Allardyce, Steve Mclaren or Bobby Robson, your lot spat on him.
Yeah mate. Around that era the squad included Mignolet, Henderson, Bent, Malbranque, Zenden etc. and instead of building a team around decent players it just dissolved and struggle became the norm again. Typical SAFC.Yeah it was a good performance that. Could have been 5 or 6 easy. They will a larger base for a statue of Bruce .While the mags are a joke for the way they blindly love Benitez, I can’t blame them for not taking to Bruce. He’s never been a great manager and will always move the goalposts to suit his own agenda.
What doesn’t sit right is that they go on about Bobby Robson cos he was one of them, what a great guy, put statues up, ghost photos approving of Bonny lads etc. making out that all geordies stick together then with Bruce just cos he’s a poor manager they’re absolutely tearing him to shreds when he’s also one of their own. Mind when he chokes on his last pasty they might re write history and whack another statue up.
Neve feel pity for the mags mate .despite floundering in league 1 I can still feel pity for the mags. I don’t think I could wish Steve Bruce on anyone. The bloke is just a mess. What is he on about today man? Which professional self respecting manager comes out and says the shite he’s come out with today. What an utter fraud he is. I hope Alex Bruce is trolling them on Twitter like he used to do to us whilst his pals in the media talk him up. it just reignites the hatred I had for the fat fucker when he left here and did the media rounds spouting his revisionist history of his time here. Kernt
No, it’s far too entertaining!Expect non-acceptance due to him being a mackem manager to follow very soon.
I really hope Mike doesn’t pull the trigger

That bit really tickled me“Have Newcastle been a good watch for years? We’ve been in the bottom half of the Premier League. Now we're not saying it's acceptable, but it's the way it is”

Once he lost to little Sunderland his days were markedAs was Bobby Robson at the end
I'm not sure subtle digs at Rafa are going to get him out of this like. He seems to love talking about a bloke who left nearly two year ago more than their fans do.“Have Newcastle been a good watch for years? We’ve been in the bottom half of the Premier League. Now we're not saying it's acceptable, but it's the way it is”
