I'm talking about the football. We were awful. Didn't make or take chances, didn't control the ball, didn't defend well. We were bad.

Haven't you the common sense to read the context behind that vote. How many voted? How was the vote put out there? How many of those would have voted in favour of anybody but Ashley? My educated guess is around 93%. You're mental if you honestly think 93% of all Newcastle fans are suddenly fully behind the Saudi regime.

If the Saudis didn't want to own us they wouldn't have begun the conversation, let alone get to the O&D stage. Look at all the other parties who've declared an interest to garner attention (BNG e.g.) then fucked off as soon as they've got it.

We haven't been 'united' in f***ing ages man. Honestly the drama on NUFC twitter is proof that this lockdown is sending people loopy.

Done you like a kipper and walked away just like Rafa did for his project.

good story on harsh realities of young academy hopefulls on bbc today.

There is a massive problem at their academy. There was a local lad that got misdiagnosed with an injury and he’s had massive problems with them and I believe he got a payout. Their head of the academy has been put on leave because his wife has said his son was misdiagnosed with an injury (he’s an academy player). I also know of a person who left because his mental health had suffered so bad because of the treatment by the coaches, he had to fight to leave, and now this.

It’s rife throughout their academy

Our academy is a disgrace for a Premier League Club and you hear stories of kids not being well looked after etc, in line with what you’ve said. As far back as I recall people always said that yours and Boro’s academy were better options.

I think you're talking bollocks. 99.9% of your fanbase still want them. I think yourself included.

I’ve heard similar and there might not be the same level of facilities etc but to be so negligent is shocking, they’re messing with young people and doing them so much harm it’s absolutely shocking

And these are kids who need looked after. The mental side of it some may never recover from. That’s not to mention the vast majority that are spit out never to achieve their dream, no doubt often with little to fall back on.

Saw that earlier. To get dropped like that must be devastating and if his account is the whole picture, it's pretty damning of NUFC's academy. Don't think enough is done for young lads to prepare them for life if they don't make the grade.

I'd be curious as to how much broader education is given to these kids, away from the training ground?

The hard facts are; a cruciate injury at that age is almost a certain career ender.

Even a seasoned pro will find they are not quite as fast or able to turn the same way as before.

I worked with a guy who'd just broken into the first 11 at Everton when he did his cruciate.

The club paid his wages and medical costs but they knew it was over for him and sure enough he was released at the end of his contract.

It's hard, but at 18 that is a career ending injury.

They are becoming remarkably like us under Ellis Short, lowering of standard throughout the club. If they go down again I can’t see them bouncing back straight away.

Yeh really jealous....Wembley final between 3rd & 4th division teams in the Papa John's Trophy....whilst we have a premiership game v Aston Villa

your game is two days earlier...lose that one to Villa and to WBA on saturday and you will 100% be following our game on the sunday .....
Shame we are in it but thats where we sunk to.......but we will rise again :)

Anyway, it may be 3rd and 4th division cup but you try to win what you take part in to me like.

exactly ..our players are currently 3rd and 4th div standard....why would they not try and win that trophy

Had their under twenty ones/threes reached the final and not us, they would not have kept quiet.
Had the league positions been reversed they would be looking forward to it.
I cannot wait. It is a trophy, means nothing in the bigger picture.
I want to see our club lift a trophy.

ASM and Almiron expected to be put till the end of March, meaning the player with the most goals ready for the games against WBA and Brighton will be Jeff Hendrick with an astonishing two goals to his name in Premier League this season.

There’s a gulf in squad capability at the moment. IF we are promoted and they are relegated, then that difference would definitely be reduced over the summer but let’s not get carried away. It’s going to take us a little while to rebuild.
Totally agree.

however that’s my point also.

If we went up and they came down there would huge changes In Both respective squads and I think that levels the playing field abit more .

Throw into the mix if the game was here with a full house I just think it would be interesting to see how they (and us) would manage the game.

If my dream ever comes true i’ll Try and get her to be a famous fan! Mags won’t like that, most beautiful girl in the world being a lads fan!

She always comes across as being up herself and a bit of a brat imo.
Neck on the block.
If we Played them now in a cup tie at home , with fans in.

they would cave in

I think we'd beat them home and away.
