Time will tell.

I think Newcastle would be the main one. The Premier League gives them by far the most exposure for their sports washing.

Haway man, they've only had 18 months to decide what they were going to do once they got through the door.

The names they've been linked to have been proper random. We've had young, big-name coaches (Lampard), unproven foreign imports (Favre) and now one of the more experienced and expensive managers in the league (Rodgers).

Who's even advising them on football? I saw the name of some ex-Liverpool bloke I've never heard of, but that's it. Someone should tell her Richard Hill is available...

Seems a bit pointless buying Inter in that case though. Newcastle gives them more exposure but they'll have to spend billions to get them near the top in Europe. Would seem daft if you also own a club that isn't too far away as it is. Realistically just improving Newcastle and aiming to get them into the champions league would be a major expense and would tick the box of exposure without having to them go to the next level. God knows what they're up to! For me if your aim was to sportswash your reputation and get a club to compete with Qatar and UAE, you would just need one "big" club. Get Newcastle, make that "your" club, make them successful. Seems daft having two or three. Having more than one makes more sense if you think football is going to be a lucrative market and you want clubs in a few divisions, which would be more aiming for profit rather than spending billions on success
 
I reckon Rodgers will go.

The last 6/12 months have felt like something is not right behind the scenes. Many rumblings if discontent.

Wouldn't be surprised at all and as much as I don't want him to go it's probably the right time.

Feels like he's taken us as far as he can. Delighted with what he's achieved and have no idea who would replace him but feels like it is probably a good time.

I see where you’re coming from. I don’t think the money will be an issue for them though.

No idea in your new manager but I’d pretty confident they’ll choose wisely. From the outside it’s a cracking setup. Although it’s football so you just never f***ing know :lol:

Canny manager but I can’t stand the knob head personally.
