NUFC/Sportwashing

And KLD isn't even on the board of LDC commodities as far as I know, selling a non controlling stake to do with food supply
The nasty bastards eh 🙄
You are again missing the point. I'm not saying they are sportswashing or even influenced by Abu Dhabi in anyway, I just don't buy the whole anyone who works or does business with them is evil.

Quick research tells me the Dreyfuss family recently sold a large part of one of their business to the Abu Dhabi investment fund. Amnesty International also publish every human rights breach that currently take place in said country.

Do you hate your own owners and if so, how do you show this?
😂😂😂 Dear me, yes that's exactly the same.

I called him out on this before, on this thread somewhere I think, years ago. He was simply a popularist, typically Guardian-esque, political aspirant who tried to mix as much non-football themes into his drawings as possible to get cheap laughs from the avocado-on-toast and iced-tea sipping captive audience. It started with just football, and it was fine, but then it became politicised, and now it's just completely out of touch.

Dont think it's completely out of touch at all Iam sitting having a shite at the minute reading it .how is that out of touch🤣

I think the main issue is sportswashing and the way your lot are running around defending them and donning mbs masks and tea towels proves it's worked no matter how many examples people pull out of the air about buying petrol or dealing with them in any fashion.

So what is your point?

The Saudis are evil, the people you're mentioning aren't evil.

Or are you saying the Saudis aren't evil, yes or no?
People on here were saying Staveley etc couldn't possibly be 'generally nice' people (Downies tweet) because they deal with Saudi Arabia.

My point was that's absurd. They may be decent folk and still work in these environments. I'm sure KLD's mam is an alright lass despite the fact she part runs a business with Abu Dhabi.

Ok let's clarify, where did KLD's money come from?

Where has his mother just made a vast sum of money from a working partnership with.

I wasn't saying Sunderland had a working relationship with Abu Dhabi, I was using it as a point that not everyone that deals with these people are instantly massive bastards. Unless you are saying KLD's mum and by proxy he is.
The money came from his father Robert. He was a billionaire. He died in 2009.

There's a big difference from selling something to a person and working for them. Margarita Louis-Dreyfus has benefited from selling 45% of a business to the UAE. And yes they have a horrible human rights record.

Staveley is working for a tyrant directly. She is happy to own NUFC and let herself be used as propaganda tool for a dictator. This isn't an investment it's sportswashing.

We all do deals with the devil. But not everyone sells their soul to him.

You must be absolutely exhausted

She sold 45% of her shares and is therefore working with them. They will be on the board. It wasn't just a cash donation.

For the final time, I don't believe she's a horrid person because of this. She could be a dick for all I know, but I've no reason to assume this because of her links with the investment. It's a daft argument.

So you're saying Abu Dhabi is evil in the way Saudi is?
