He’s a bloody journalist. His JOB is to report on world events. Let’s suppose he overheard something and ended up uncovering the Saudi equivalent or watergate or made observations that he could pass on to Amnesty International.

It’s akin to saying war zone reporters are encouraging and promoting how great war is. Give your head a shake.

In answer to your question, I am purely trying to understand your motivation for offering yourself up for ridicule, when as a morally bankrupt supporter of a club owned by a murderous regime, you have absolutely given up any right you may once have had to enter into civilised conversation.

Sorry mate. Honestly I was taking the piss. Just doing what some of your support have been doing since this shit show came to town. I don’t have a great deal of time for sports “journalists” but to be truthful I’m pleased he’s shown Downie up for what he is.
 
Hypothetical. And completely off the wall thinking. I believe I've read that all 19 PL clubs are against Saudi involvement in Newcastle. If the takeover was between seasons, would it be possible for all clubs to just forfeit the games against Newcastle, yes they'd win without kicking a ball but would it have significant impact of any on the situation ????

Just my thoughts would be no played would want to go and not play to an extent. And would mean the "fans" of Newcastle United wouldn't get to see a ball kicked either. As a player would any feel strongly enough to not play against Newcastle

F**k all. If theyd been minded to do anything this the deal wouldn’t have gone through. Boris stepped in and told them to get it done. So even if they wanted to do something they couldn’t. Anyone pissed off at the mags and the PL need to save some for our prime minister. He’s in this up to his neck.
