He was talking about the owners he has met. He can't talk about those he hasn't. It's worth noting that whilst Hardy is putting the boot in here, he happily accepted an all-inclusive paid trip to Saudi to watch the boxing.
Did he? The absolute bastard. Fancy a sports journalist travelling to watch a sporting event.what a kernt. I bet he flew on a Boeing and watched a Disney movie on the way.

Just offering a balanced opinion. It seems a bit cultish on here at the moment. I personally think Newcastle will have some fans against this, but the majority for it, and that every club in the country would react in a very similar fashion. This isn't going to change football. The floodgates have been open for many years.

Granted if it was Grimsby I would not be as rational.
Lots of us have problems with the fact that Newcastle fans aren't 'reacting' to something that's just happened and they had no control over. They've actively been pushing for this takeover for months, despite what their new owners would represent.

Sadly I put that down to ignorance and a complete lack of understanding of what goes in in Saudi Arabia - which is the best defence I can offer for those runnign around with tea towels on their heads.

Oooof. Get in ya fucker.

Vicious even by his immaculate standards.

What more could you expect from another Swindon fan.
Love his stuff, the one on our very own Club was just brilliant.
Especially considering he lives in Australia and the Guardians editor ower there is a mag!. Though he’s written an anti takeover article already iirc.
Squires is a Swindon fan.

The best ones are Mate 😂🍺

Honest question, I know most fans feel a sense of relief, we've had shit owners as well. But, how would you feel if any of your new owners were directly responsible for atrocities that went against human rights?

But the point remains, if he is so anti Saudi Arabia, why is he encouraging the sportswashing by attending an event? Is it ok because he's paid for it? Surely he's benefitting from the exact same blood money? He's just another in a long line of hypocrites.

When Chelsea and City were challenged previously the bloke tweeted 'it doesn't matter where the money has come from' - why's he happy to turn a blind eye then?

It's not an honest question, it's a dig at me and the answer has already been given multiple times on a thread that's probably going to reach 1000 pages of the exact same back and forth bullshit.

Sportswashed.

What about the boxing eh?

My point about banning him and the likes of Bird & Caulkin isn’t about that one tweet in isolation.

Their whole attitude towards this has been as bad as your support in campaigning for and welcoming the Saudi’s with open arms.

They have been at best complicit in the Sportswashing happening and at worse completely negligent in their roles as journalists.

They can backtrack all they want, but as with the north east MPs who also wanted this, there is now way back for them now.

Wait until your new owners commit their next atrocity. Although not responsible by fawning over them Downie etc have effectively aided the the Saudi state in it’s attempts to clean their image by owning an English club without a word of concern raised.

Football fans in seeing football crack as more important than some faux human rights stance shocker?
Sorry, I meant is there a point to you, we know your banter is pointless.
Aye, and any clubs fans would have done exactly the same. But it was celebrating a UAE league title. My point is that sometimes football strangely comes before lifes principles.
Another thicko. For reference Manchester City are not UAE owned.

The LGBTQ statement was a f***ing joke tbf. They practically rolled out the red carpet. I thought LGBTQ groups would have a bit of awareness, a bit of solidarity with others being persecuted in other countries, but seemingly not. Theirs has been the worst stance of all.

And I'm not lumping all NUFC fans together. I'm saying that if you're going to choose to write about a set of fans and all you can see is people celebrating, then you're going to say "the fans are happy". If there were loud, forceful statements of unhappiness from a decent number of fans your take would have to be "it's divided the fans". Looking at the overwhelming reaction from Newcastle fans, I wouldn't feel the need to say its divided, or that there are groups seriously questioning it. All I see is celebration, defending the regime, whataboutery and some very soft "they're not great but hopefully they'll change" comments. They'll avoid lumping them all together when the serious dissent from groups of nufc fans is voiced. But we all know that isn't happening.
the mad jordie tea towel wearers would make the lgbtq lives a misery, tolerance goes out the window when the gravy stains think they have a chance of glory ...
