All of the people who sit on the board of PIF are Saudi government ministers. The head of PIF is the de facto ruler of Saudi Arabia.

The obvious interpretation and the previous legal advice give to the PL was that the Saudi state and PIF are not separate entities. But the PL have now stated they have been given legal assurances that they are separate, without explaining what that means or showing the evidence. The whole thing stinks.

At least 3 of the PL lawyers stated concerns that there was no separation but the PL went ahead anyway. Like Boris told them to. The whole thing is horse shit.

Hasn't that already happened though? The UAE bought Man City as a Sportswashing exercise and it appears to have worked.

Also, re the brand, the Saudis already have links with Man Utd, Spurs, West Ham were keen on a Saudi takeover.

Personally think it's fanciful to think the other Premier League teams are objecting to this takeover on moral grounds. They're protecting their own interests, as is their right.

Laura Woods is on a one-woman mission to get Bruce the sack this morning on Talksport. Had Shay Given on earlier and she asked him who he'd have in as their new manager. Told her he doesn't like talking about new managers, when they already have one in place. Proper blew her out. IIRC, her da's a mag. He's probably put her up to it.

I agree with you mate, but we need to be mindful, that while we call out the Prem League for its moneygrabbing and lack of morals, getting back amongst the elite is what we all want and are striving for.
We bemoan all of the ills of the top flight, criticising owners and clubs lack of ethics, while all the time being desperate to be part of their clique again.
Its a real contradiction, and a mine field that we as a club are going to have to negotiate very carefully.

Funnily enough my brother is a Man Utd season ticket holder and he asked if this was the same bunch that were after them as, as he put it, they were proper shady.

Who knows, I just know that there’s 19 other clubs that will currently be looking for assurances that the PL isn’t going to become a sportswashing freak show. Re Man City, Saudi are a different league to UAE when it comes to global perceptions on human rights. I can understand why many think they’re now just going to sweep everyone else aside, won’t happen though IMO.

I lost interest during the Short years and I’ll do it again if KLD was forced to sell to a multi billion investment fund or state sponsored clout chaser just to compete.

If anything it’s even more of a cesspit than it was. The NUFC situation is fast becoming a cautionary tale before it’s even started.
