What can I do about these people? I live 300 miles away, i personally don't know any of them.

I'm laughing at the way this board has reacted to the takeover.

I'm pretty sure it was mocked for years on here, and yet here we are. Now there's a sudden interest in the behaviour of the Saudi regime. It's a bit late now as that shit has been going on for years.

I don't know what you expect the average Newcastle fan to do. I've followed them for decades seeing them get beat everywhere. Am I supposed to stop what is my main interest because someone who I don't like has sold them to someone I like even less? Am I supposed to come up with a solution to the problems in the middle east?

The funniest thing about this is you lot seem to have accepted that Newcastle will be bank rolled to win trophy after trophy. I'm not even convinced that these lot will put in that much so success is not guaranteed. You have one owner who can't have that much money to her name, another who appear to have money but not enough to buy the club outright. Is the 80% owner going to fund most of the investment?

TBH, since the news broke some on this board have gone on like raging fannies.
Youve hoyed your pants down for a few quid, sold your soul. NUFC 1892-2021.

If they mean business and to make a huge impact, there is no doubt Sid James is not for for purpose.
Unable to build on the ground and increase capacity it must surely mean building another ground elsewhere.

China's human rights behaviour, regarding Hong Kong, Tibet, etc, has been discussed but not on PF unless there's been a football issue. It doesn't mean people don't 'give a shiny shite'.
Exactly.
Plus, on a broader scale, there’s probably loads of threads about murders on The smb - the general attitude of safc fans being that murder is kind of a bad thing, state-sponsored or not
Or you could go back a few years before they were linked with the Mags and see how many posts there was condemning the human rights situation in Saudi. You won't find many
There’s loads

It's not like unless I've missed all the 1000s of posts of outrage about PSG. Honestly 99.9% of people on here couldn't care less about the human rights situation in Saudi before they were linked with the Mags and that's a fact. I'm not going to pretend to be suddenly outraged about it now. I'm more bothered about them being loaded, turning them into a force, and young fans from traditional Sunderland areas turning to them. That's genuinely my only concern. I live in Peterlee and I seen it happen in the 90s and that was without them winning a thing. Pre 1992 you didn't see a mag in or around our area, a few years later it was crawling with them.
You have no clue... Why are you helping the blood money men to sports wash?

Can't remember ever reading one. Certainly in all my years of going to watch Sunderland, during the post and pre match crack in the pub, the topic has never came up either.

I couldn't care less. My only concern is Sunderland. I'd rather they hadn't bought them I'll be honest, but that's solely down to how much money they have.

I'm from the NE and proud to say so.

Now that this brutal regime has bought one of our clubs I'll be associated with it and have to explain how I'm not.

Of course human rights aren't often discussed on a football forum, until it becomes part of our football.

Anyone posted this already? As the tweet says, it could be posturing, but suggestions that BeIn has not obtained a licence to broadcast in Saudi. We are three (?) days in.
Rough translation

For importance and clarification:

There are those who promote incorrect information about the settlement of billions as compensation to the (BN Sport) group, and the confirmed fact is that the (BN Sports) group did not obtain a broadcast permit inside the Kingdom, and it is obliged to pay fines and violations exceeding 600 million Saudi riyals according to the provisions and decisions in force.

Your lot have spent the past 5 years calling us peados because we played a player hadn't been proven guilty of the then alleged crimes in court.

Yet here we are and your new owner instructs kids to be killed. And tortures his own. And instructs people to dismember journalists.

We're not going on like raging fannies. We're pointing out what your club now stands for.

Here's just a few. There's a load more

I'm sure you'll just say you don't care any way but let's not pretend the subject hasn't been discussed

This is one of many threads from when Qatar became part of our football World, just as Saudi now has.

This was last year after they'd been linked with the Mags (and a whole 3 pages of very little outrage at that).

I'll repeat, before they were linked with them nobody gave a toss. It's all just faux outrage. We need to sit tight, continue building our club as is currently happening and just hope that somehow it goes tits up for them. If anyone can mess this up, it's the mags.

If kashoggi is typed into the search bar there’s pages and pages not in PF.

You really don't understand how Sportswashing works if you don't think they are going to throw money at the club. If they wanted a financial investment, they'd have bought a distressed big club like Sheffield Wednesday. You will clap along like a pack of entitled seals while the rest of football grows to despise rather than pity you.
