They will get humped in their next 3 or 4 league games and reality will set in. We've been here before, it was f***ing nauseating during the Keegan and Hall jawdy nashun era. Likewise when Ashley took over to a man all the mags I know were creaming their duds and in our faces about how they would be the new top dogs. Twice now Staveley has publicly played down their plans. No way are they spending a fraction of what City do. They spent £2.4B on wages and players just in the last 5 years, the ceo of pif will get beheaded if he spends a quarter of that on them daft k_untz.
 
One thing about being bought by essentially Crown Prince MBS (despite what PR bollocks the PL says), is that the future of the mags is now tied to the future political stability of Saudi Arabia.

The main reason Saudi Arabia has been mostly stable since its creation in 1932 is that the Saudi Royals have traditionally been a very consensus based political order (at least between the many royals). MBS is different since been appointed Crown Prince (and de facto ruler since the King is old and in poor health) and has been establishing a one man dictatorship around himself which will only intensify when he becomes King.

Let's wait and see if Saudi Arabia can maintain its stability especially since the world needs to reduce its dependence on oil.

As much as you're right, the West need Saudi for more than just oil... If they downed tools Iran and Russia (and Syria) would just takeover the region
