This will sort them out though. We're kidding ourselves If we think It won't affect the football. It's just horrible. Hopefully some clubs will refuse to let Bin Salman in their ground or at least their hospitality

The Saudis and the mags are welcome to each other. If or when the deal does through, the mags would have a sold their soul to the devil and it shows they're willing to accept anyone (including murderers) just for a bit of success.
They'll become like Chelsea and Manchester City, a plastic club who will just buy success and gain massive amount of glory seeking fans. The local supporters will eventually be priced out due to higher ticket prices.

At the end of the day they're a shit club with a deluded fanbase who will always find fault and be miserable about something.

Yet they were all crying about the "iconic skyline" being lost when Mike Ashley sold land around St James Park for businesses to invest in which created thousands of jobs.

This is the thing. PIF is ran by the Saudi Royal Family, nobody can state otherwise but it'll go through because the issue was TV rights and not the horrendous human rights record.

The Saudis are on record recently as saying they don't want to buy any more but Ashley has a contract with them and he is persuing the court case not the Saudis.

The court case is to prove if they are separate to PIF. Their actions in settling the BeIn case now proves that they are linked so I can't see it going through which is probably what the Saudis want now. Easier to give BeIn 200 million or whatever than buy a club for 300 million then sink another 700 million. The pandemic / green agenda. The world's changed quite a bit since they put their initial bid in

Serious question...can we protest against this takeover if/when it happens??
Yes I would think so if you would like to. I think there are new laws about protesting being brought in by the home office which clamp down on some protests but I don’t know the ins and outs

Separation was only required due to the piracy issues mate. Thats gone away. It does very much look like this will go through im afraid.
Surely the people who run PIF would still need to submit themselves to the O&D test even if the separation issue disappeared and as chairman that would involve MBS, who would never allow himself to be tested.

I just can't see how they can pass the fit and proper owners test.
They will because money talks but it's a disgrace.

I would be saying the same if it was us being bought by them

I certainly wouldn't, neither would you. Anyone saying they would is lying to themselves. Football sold its soul years ago. No point in getting all righteous about it now.

Still can't say I'm all that bothered. This is the mags we're talking about. They'll find a way to make a pigs ear of it and the protests will start up again before long.

The premier league will overlook it, they are corrupt after all.

With the region set to benefit so much from these untold riches, get your applications in early people. I for one will be asking for a new shed, new windows and a cheeky punt for a new car.
