Could be a side benefit though.

There's nee way they've spent $1bn or whatever it is to resolve the piracy stuff purely to takeover the Mags BUT, it certainly helps overcome one of the hurdles. Hopefully they trip over the remaining ones and fall flat on their murderous faces.

The mags forget how modest their plans are for the club. They've already said they have a plan of about £100mill to spend per year on all aspects of the club. This is far from game changing money in the PL.

Surely paying a settlement in relation to the piracy issue is admitting that it actually happened and that they were responsible. If that’s the case then I would have thought that would lead to an automatic ban from club ownership.

Will they still complain about transparency and the cartel if they think they're joining that group I wonder?

Am i missing something here? Saudi pays £1bn to Qatar and this piracy all goes away? Admission of guilt but money helps sweep it under the carpet.

It’s because the PL are corrupt ;)

Could be game changing for the Mags but the where the finance is coming from would make me uncomfortable if it was my club.

Tbf if it was Sunderland I would be uncomfortable but I’d pretend I wasn’t just to rattle the other clubs fan bases

No doubting that an element of our support would support it - it would definately put me off though.

I mentally checked out with pro football a couple of seasons ago - I go to watch my home town non league team now. There’s still money issues etc but it’s no where near as morally bankrupt as the professional game.

Absolutely. My point was I think people will be uncomfortable but they won’t admit it because they want to get one over other teams fan bases online.

To be honest it'll be no surprise if it does go through, the government are keen and as anyone who has done business with Saudi Arabian companies will know its all smoke and mirrors.

Whether they throw mega bucks around may be a different story. Its a sports washing vehicle.
