The two things are totally different and should not, in my opinion, be mentioned together.
That article / accusation was the kind of thing you expect from a Twitter retard. What was done for those lads was remarkable. Something folk should remember before allowing the humour to go too far.

Not a problem - they only signed him for the 8 games Wilson will miss. The richest clerb in the world can afford that. But 25m + 15.6m (Guessing at his salary - 2.5 x 52 x 120k pw) = 40.6m.....or just over 5m for each of these 8 games. Pocket change when the owners have got trillions of pounds.

@blue monday was bragging about this the other day. Seems he didn’t appreciate it takes a large chunk out of their permitted spending this window.
