Losing yesterday damaged their transfer market credibility hugely. Any players wavering about whether to take the chance on going there will have probably made their minds up. Who wants an embarrassing relegation on their CV

It’s an impossible job for them. When any team makes signings you don’t just want them to be a good fit now but a good fit in the future as well.
Future ambition for the richest clerb in the world has to be top 6 but how many players who will be a good signing for a top 6 club are going to sign for one in a relegation battle?

I don’t see any other option for them but a 2 stage rebuild and then shipping out the players not good enough will be near impossible if they are on massive wages.
