I've not watched Newcastle play under Bruce, but just saw the possession stats (36:64) versus Blackburn- is this the norm? Do they let the other team have the ball, suck them in and hope to hit them on the break?

Yeah, Bruce played a passive low-block most of last season. Totally isolating the striker, asking the wide midfielders to carry the ball past 2 or three defenders to try and get it up the pitch, or hitting long hopeful balls to Joelinton who has never in his life been a targetman. Because of that the ball comes back more often than not and we invite more pressure. The 442 against West Ham was better, but we're still way too passive off the ball and better teams will punish us.

Hughton and Benitez were defensive managers, but at least we pressed the opposition and broke in numbers.
Blackburn controlled the game, Rothwell in midfield was the best player on the pitch imo.
They were unlucky not to win that game. Our 'keeper was our best player, which is damning.

Yeah mate, the progress is there for all to see.

128 years and counting.
What part of we can dont you understand? Let Me put it another way. The possibility for improvement is there. Progress can be made. We may not be in this situation forever. For us there may come a time when our fortunes improve.
Is that easier for you? If you are still struggling let me know. The lass next door teaches infants I’m sure she’ll give me a hand to get through to you.
Truth be told there’s not that much we can do to change What happens on the pitch, that’s largely up to the players and the manager and owner.
whereas there’s lots of things you lot as fans can do to make a start ridding yourselves of the mantle of biggest tossers in the universe. But you won’t, your sense of entitlement has been driven into starting with John hall and continued by the chronicle to the point you actually believe it. You’ve a tame MP to pander to your every whim. If you started today it would take three generations of acting sensibly before anyone outside your bubble looked upon you as anywhere near normal. So you crack on while the rest of the world laughs at you ( not with you btw there’s a difference)
Ill not keep you any longer, I’m sure you’ve protests to plan, and those petitions won’t write themselves.
Have a grand day. Stay safe.

It’s their MO under Bruce, and sometimes it works against the most unexpected teams who seem to fall for it. Quite often because the opposition don’t put away many chances ! It’s a bit like us in reverse we don’t kill teams off and are therefore susceptible to a break

We’re taking legal action against our doctor that signed Alvarez but we also look like absolute idiots

The full thing seems to be on where the money is coming from and that PIF are independent from the crown prince. I know there’s a royal decree saying he’s not involved but he also reckons he didn’t assassinate the journalist in the embassy and that he didn’t send a hit squad to Canada
