According to what I've just read, earlier in the window Liverpool went for him but only offered £8m and Norwich were hoping for nearer £20m
Mentioned that in the commentary of the NI match last night. A Klopp sign of approval for a wing/full back is like the gold standard. That would be a decent signing if you pull that off.

On here. Obviously went on a stadium tour and pretended he had broken in.

That lad is a proper bellend. Fair enough, support the mags, but he panders to their fans by attempting to take the piss out of us. It really is embarrassing.

It's like me deciding to support Lazio and then creating a dislike for Roma based on nothing but the fact that they are their local rivals.

Tin Hat on here, but Fraser, Wilson and Lewis would be great signings for them, exactly the type of players they should have been looking at for years.
They are overpaying (either on wages, fees or both) for domestic players.
In addition, all these players went down recently.
It is very similiar to what Bruce did when he was with us - signing Larsson, Gardner, Wickham etc.

Did not approve of him that much if he was only willing to pay 8 million for him and he was available for 14 million.

You have no idea what wages they're paying. I don't think they're overpaying on fees (but everyone has their own view).

Players being relegated means nothing. For every Larsson, you have an Andy Robertson. For every Wickham, there's a Defoe. For every Gardner, there's a Wijnaldum.

Larsson and Gardner were bang average plodders who got relegated, tbf.

I wouldn't be getting worked up about Callum Wilson if I was a Mag. Only 1 season out of 5 in a team as attacking as Bournemouth. The new Dwight Gayle

He’s f***ing shite.

Amount of chances he misses is criminal. Can get away with it in an attacking team like Bournemouth where you’re getting a couple of chances a game, but he’s gunna need to make the most of very limited chances at the mags.

Think Fraser will be a good signing though, tbh.

No one except the club will know the wages, but if you think free agents or players with recent premier league experience are coming in with low wages, then fair play.

Wijnaldum and Defoe had established pedigree at both club and international level.
Fraser, Wilson and Lewis do not have that previous pedigree. They are more in line with players which I mentioned, unless you want to argue differently.

In addition, it comes across as very scattergun. Looks to be signing 'name players' who are available rather than targeting players who fit into their system.

I never argued they're on low wages. You argued that they're overpaid without any knowledge.

I would argue that Callam Wilson is as different to Jermain Defoe as he is to Connor Wickham. You're trying to make. A blanket opinion on relegated players which is daft.

As for not fitting their system, I don't really agree. They've been searching for an attacking full back for a while. Lewis fits that bill. Wilson is a powerful alrounder as a striker which is the type they like and need. Fraser might be opportunistic but I'm not sure why you think he can't fit into a Newcastle team?

You're trying too hard to find negatives in my view.
