Am I the only one suprised at the lack of big names Newcastle have signed despite having shit loads of money . Don't get me wrong Pope is a good keeper but he's hardly a stellar name ..I would argue only guimares was top quality

No way will they finish top 6 this season ...still think your Leicester city and West ham's will finish above them..

For all the patter, they signed Burnley, Bournemouth, Villa reserves and trippier and the Brazilian

hardly champions league and winning trophies incoming. Lose a few early and they will be on howes back
Thu just went a teem thet tryes.

Absolute shite.

From what I read on the chronicle anyone who bought a ticket from 2019/2020 onwards who doesn't have a season ticket but bought a match day ticket or did have a season ticket could apply.

They were trying to claim what 40,000 season ticket holders in the championship?

COVID kicked in March 2020 games were suspended then games were behind closed doors for a very long period.

Then those that could jumped back on the season ticket bandwagon when the beheaders looked like getting in.

So let's say conservatively they've got 40,000 season ticket holders still, 4,000 for away fans. Two seasons of covid and they still had 30,000 different people buying match day tickets when Ashley was in charge for 70% of that period.

Absolute f***ing bollocks. They'll lap it up though.

I doubt it's as high 30k, but it does include anybody who became a club member as well, not just having attended a game.
Around 35k season tickets at start of 19/20, not sure how many would have gave up after the no fans covid season. 4/5000 people purchasing per match, 10k freebies for half a season, plus post take over all the games were selling out pretty quickly, and went on sale to members before the general public. I reckon more like 20k would not be an unrealistic number for people who have attended or became members. People will join up as members to get priority on the general sale tickets or when season tickets were to become available.

Raiding relegated teams. If MA was still in charge they'd be shouting at shops over these kinds of signings

I’m seem to remember a mr s Bruce bringing in a canny few players from teams relegated the previous season.

that went well

Bit daft calling them reserve players really isn't it? They were all playing very regularly for their previous clubs

Were they? I don’t know. Burnley went down, didn’t they?
Yes they did go down.

And yes they were all playing.
Targett played 38 games in his last full season at Villa and 17 in the season before we signed him.
Burn played about 75 games in the 2.5 seasons before we signed him.
Wood was playing 30+ a year for 4 or 5 years.
Pope as well was first choice keeper

I said a Villa reserve and you’ve confirmed it, thanks for that

Not sure where you've got that from. Targett was £12m, Burn £13m, Pope £10m and Trippier £12m. £47m plus any add ons.
Anyone got any idea if this add-on showing on in Further Information is correct?

Atlético will receive 15 million Euros in bonuses for the transfer of the player if Newcastle stays in the Premier League at the end of the 2021/2022 season.

Thanks as I said. I’m really jealous and that. Still wondering how everybody didn’t go when Rafa went?

So not a reserve player. He played 17 out of 20 games for them before joining Newcastle. The final two he was on the bench, iirc he had been left out as negotiations were taking place regarding the transfer

First I've heard of that. Interesting.
That would make it a £24m transfer? Doesn't seem realistic but that website is usually good for that kinda thing.
Perhaps the payment was delayed until the end of the season? Something to look into
