Oh god they’ve interviewed Steve Wraiths protege on Sky for tonight’s game  they’ve all got the bottle of brown ale infront of them again! Kissing the mags arse yet again when a few weeks ago Carragher etc were jumping on the bandwagon because it was popular due to the war in Ukraine

One of the lads who done the interview outside there earlier in season when Carragher and Neville were there said nobody wanted brown ale. He was driving so just wanted water and his mate wanted lager. Sky producers made them all sit with brown ale and nobody liked it

Agreed, it wasn't very good.

It depends. Some are awful to watch but some are brilliant to watch.
Don't be fooled marra. The majority on here have said the league we are currently in is honking (that's putting in kindly given the expletives usually used to describe it). People find the football standard to be abysmal. We had plenty on here posting just after a 3-1 win saying they've never been so depressed, given the turgid football. I like to hoy digs at your lot at times, but let's be honest, league one is even more hideous to watch than owt in the top flight.

Take it the smelly, terrorist sympathising ***** got a result last night? Noticed they’ve crawled out of their hovels.

Agreed, it wasn't very good.

It depends. Some are awful to watch but some are brilliant to watch. A different class of players and a different referee mindset on top of many other things.
Swings and roundabouts to be fair.

Yep, not nice to watch at times.

He hasn't found himself out yet so I highly doubt premier players have found him out.
Take a look when he gets the ball, he's swooped upon by a good few players. His problem is trying to take them on in areas where he'd be better passing. He tried to do that last night as well as take crowds of players on and it made him look more frustrating than he actually was.
He did some decent stuff in a pretty bad game of football.
He goes to ground too easily for me and even Targett dragged him up with a few words.

Because he's an exciting player regardless of him being frustrating at times.

He achieves plenty but the problem with his skill and pace and whatnot is if he does a few bad things they stand out like a sore thumb and that tends to be looked upon with a frown while his good work fades into the distance.
He's a work in progress I think.

I agree. It's a definite bad part about his game and I hope Howe levels it out a bit with him. The thing is he does get fouled a lot but it goes unpunished because of his actions.

He seems to be doing ok up to now.

Is that why he signed a new improved contract to stay at the club?

Popular and a brilliant footballer. A crowd-pleaser with his own frustrations. I see plenty of them and it's about honing him.

Far from it. He's in the team because he can do a lot of good stuff much more than making errors.
He terrorises defenders so much that they have to hunt him in packs.

Joelinton has come on massively under Howe and his new position. No wonder his praises are sung and deservedly so. He had his fair share of putdowns and he's come through it. I love the lad.

Because that's what he does and he's getting better at it.

Far from average. He's a top player and will get even better at this rate.

I can't comment on him because I didn't really take too much notice of him.

VAR is the best thing football's had. It's not the VAR system it's the people overseeing it that's the issue.

They are and do. It just depends on who's doing the overseeing.
Some you get and some you don't. Some aren't even looked at and they're blatant.

Why should he?
The keeper races out and offers out his full outstretched leg as Wood comes in. The keeper is at fault, not Wood.

It's far from cheating.

This comes down to the officials running it and we all know bias plays massive parts in games with this stuff.
Look how many times we've been robbed of penalties where the ref even refused to go and look at the screen or those running VAR refused to alert the ref.
That's cheating.

As it stands it's easy to see why he's hyped up. He's quality and hasn;t played many games for us.

Did you watch it?
He stood out massively. He was quality.
Get the match up and pay closer attention to his game. He was excellent.

I believe we do. He's fantastic.

The Wolves defence was strong and stood out because they battled like hell to shut us out and did a fairly decent job of it until we deservedly won it.

His performance was brilliant that's why he's being talked about.

Tl;dr

Yeah mate, great 1-0 win. A very good penalty from Chris Wood.
Goes without saying but yet again another fantastic atmosphere.
Be on match the day tonight if you missed it 👍

OK so my take on yesterday. Watched it with a Wolves supporting mate of mine so probably doubly biased

1. Crap match. As much Wolves fault as Newcastles. I've said it before and I'll say it again.... the lower leagues provide much more entertainment for a neutral fan. The Northern League even more so.
So many times the attacking team are on the edge of the box and 20 seconds and 4 passes later its with their keeper. Both sides guilty

2. St Maximin is STILL a one trick pony as ive said for a very long time. Only now he's been found out. Yet every time he's got the ball the pundits get excited. Other than pace and the same fancy footwork he achieves nothing most of the time. If he doesn't get his way, he throws his arms around, talks to himself and gives up. Wouldn't last a season in a decent side

Under Ashley they'd cash in, make a fortune on him and you'd likely never hear from him again. These lot will keep him because he's popular. He's basically the Premier league equivalent of the lad who got in the school team purely because he was good at keepy-ups.

3. The media love Joelinton. He's a new star. I lost count of how many times they described him as "ball winning", "ball holding" or "rejuvenated under Eddie Howe". He was awful. He's now an average Premier league player. That's it.

4. If Cundle can be a premier league footballer... so can I. One great pass. That was it. Trincoa (or however its spelt) almost as bad.

5. VAR is ruining football. If they can be so arsey about offsides, then they need to be just as arsey about penalty claims. The Newcastle lad could have got out if the way and made no effort to. Its cheating. Either scrap VAR or apply it to every decision. End of.

6. Bruno whatshisname is going to be massively over hyped. He didn't stand out in a crap match. Yet the pundits say things like "Newcastle fans have exciting times ahead with him on the pitch". Really? Most of the Wolves defence had more impact on the game than he did. I'm not saying he's crap, but the love for his performance last night was bizarre.

Rant over.

Number 2 always said this about saint maximam like Traore at wolves all fart & no 💩💩💩

It gets even weirder when the durham lot have a go at Sunderland and refer to Newcastle as their city 🤣

Another case in point with regard to this weird complex of theirs, over on Facebook (anar) there was a survey of best beaches in the North East and Seaburn had the absolute cheek to make it into the top 5...first reply was your stereotypical mag, profile photo in his toon top "are ya joking? It's smackhead city"

They're desperate, they literally can't give Sunderland any credit whatsoever and the only conclusion I can arrive at is that they're very very insecure and maybe even jealous?

My thoughts exactly "52 thoosand screaming jawdees"
I've said it for years, is another club's attendance mentioned as much as theirs? Weird. If a fantastic atmosphere is waving loads of flags about before kick off whilst singing along to the P.A then it must have been...the 50 odd minutes I could stomach watching it was mostly shite.
