That just isn't true. I certainly (and many others) had issue with the Saudis pre-takeover, it just wasn't discussed on here as it wasn't relevant to football.
My understanding of it was that the Premier League wanted the Saudi state put through the O&D test to reject them on the piracy issue. That issue got resolved and the takeover passed through quickly, probably because they no longer contested the separation issue because it would have been pointless anyway. The separation issue and agreements was face-saving by the PL

I'm of the opinion that it isn't the Premier League's of NUFC fan's place to take a stand against UK allies. Would I prefer an ethical ambitious filthy rich owner? Sure. Do they exist?
