NUFC and other Sportswashing 2022 - Part 3

I've had this conversation with several of my SAFC supporting mates, and they all agree that they'd be literally over the moon if they had our owners. Yet on here about 95% of posters would be against it, honestly it comes across like kids at school trying to fit in with the 'in' crowd.

I've said it many times on here, I work for Aramco, am I happy with what they've done over the years? No. Am I happy with what's going on with Yemen? No. But I'm still happy they pay me well every month & I can provide for my family. Biased? Maybe.

To say you'd hate you're club if they were owned by our owners is just one' upmanship because they own the 'mags' for the majority on here. The reality is, most of you would be overjoyed. It's hard to admit but it's true.

Anyway genuine good luck for the rest of the season.
Or maybe you’re just trying to normalise it. You do after all rely on them for your income. It’s not all one upmanship. Some of us do genuinely believe in what we say. And it isn’t just because it’s you lot. On the other hand they couldn’t have picked a better club.

I admit this is a bit of a stretch but how do you feel about the Louis-Dreyfus family selling a 45% stake in their business to the Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund? It’s business KLD would likely have had a say in and could be money finding its way into SAFC?

UAE’s attitudes and treatment of people may be softening but still pretty barbaric. They’re also Saudi’s biggest allies and bombing the fuck out of Yemen too.

Like I said, it’s a huge stretch but if you’re as principled as you make out, it must be a concern for you.

As you say its a huge stretch. They are owned by the country

No, PIF fund.
Anyone with several functioning brain cells know who heads PIF and, thus by direct correlation, heads NUFC.
The Premier League, albeit for the wrong reasons, got it right the first time. They should not have been allowed to purchase the club. Simple as that.
The fact, after a bit of legal 'ping-pong', PIF were ratified as meeting the criteria had nowt to do with the media, protests or 100,000 folk signing a petition. It was a political decision, made by a bent government, because the Saudi state who absolutely do not own Newcastle United, spend billions and billions on arms and whatever else.

Murderers are safe now, I reckon
This
3 wins on the bounce and 5 unbeaten
They have won the games they expected to win and got a spawny draw v Man U.
Also doesn't help if there's a bag with £50000 on each of the visitors hook with a picture of someone's hands / head cut off as an alternative.
This is now officially my worst time alive as a football fan. I've blocked all but 1 mag now from WhatsApp, as we have an unwritten agreement not to talk football to maintain a good friendship (goes back to the 3rd win in a row when we were the top dogs).

Don’t think I’ve ever seen such a weak pathetic post in my life. Man up ffs

Did you watch the Man Utd game. Far from spawny. They were shite and we should have won.
In regard to mates. I have quite a few who are SAFC. We never talk football. We have better things to discuss like horse racing, music and (after a few beers) all kinds of general shite.
Even when we were teenagers we went to Newcastle together as a group. Football never came into it. If, after too many beers, SAFC were brought up and other mags were tempted to give them shit they very quickly realised they had a couple of Sunderland, and a whole load of mags to deal with.
Mates are mates. Football is largely irrelevant in comparison, to me anyway.

No, I'm judging them on actual performances and games stats. They've won 3 games and haven't even had 40% possession in any of them.

In the Leeds and Villa games they had more or less the same shots, on target and corners. On paper they should have been 0-0 draws but they've been gifted 3 points with large slices of luck.
You only watched 20 minutes but you know we were shit? Okay then 😂😂😀

They’ve definitely all been given the same propaganda sheet to read from. They remind me of the SNP. They are the piss drenched footballing SNP.

I can only speak for myself and say that I would be conflicted. I might be wrong but I don’t think the public delight would be the same level nor would we have fans arguing ‘it’s not the Saudi state it’s PIF’. I do have no doubt though that there would be some of that and the ground would be full every week. For every one that might not go out of principle there would be 5 who replaced him/ her.

You wouldn't, and I haven't had a drink all day. You are kidding yourself if you think 1000s of us would walk away from Sunderland if they'd bought us. In fact the opposite would be true. We'd have 48,000 there every week.
Not Sunderland supporters then just a team to follow until they failed then fuck off to another club ?! No thanks

we were in the premier league then...now we're in the 3rd tier for the 4th season running, and not looking anywhere near getting out of it. I think these times are the most depressing in the clubs history, certainly mine anyway

Just on a personal level. I had started a new job, was young, at peak Sunderland obsession and was getting teased by Mags in the Champions League while we appointed Wilko.

Was utter torture

The media initial interest in their disgusting owners has now died, is that the end of this pressure group so too speak.

Clearly nothing can be done unfortunately.
