Not Roy Keane

Yeah I have no doubt

But you have to make comprimisew in football

He’s looking for a 100% perfect scenario that doesn’t exist

We needed him and he wouldn’t make that sacrifice

I repeat he hasn’t had a job in 13 years. This isn’t a man in demand. He won’t get a better offer

Even if it was methven doing the interview in nothing but his salmon pants.

As I say he won’t manage again

He’s clearly happy in sky
You may be right on the manage again thing. I think he saw us as the one that would get him back in, and prove himself, but hadn't forseen the shitshower at board level.

Always thought it might be a good stepping stone for RK
Get us promoted, do decent next season and could see Man U come knocking
Their fans would love it

I'm absolutely adamant that if Keane wanted the job he would have been in charge now. If one of the stipulations was they have to move here than that's fair enough imo. How can you expect players to commit to coming here when the manger won't. Keane had no bargaining power at all, if he was after better wages more cash to spend etc he needs to get in the real world and understand we are a league one club. Can't help but think he's used us a bit to try to help him get a better job. Considering the failures at his last few jobs it's staggering the reputation he has amongst our fans. Every passing day he's out of managemen he seems to be more highly thought of. He can frankly fuck off imo and get back to being angry on the tele. He's been wasting our time this past week

Absolutely this

He’s always got a reason

That’s the point

That’s why he hasn’t managed in 13 years

He’s not a bloke in demand in the slightest, people forget that

But if he’s to end that exile and come back as a manager he won’t want to do it at any cost or under any circumstance.

It needs to be right. If he’s priced him out then that’s on him but if it’s a case of us not wanting to move away from the DOF structure and he’s not prepared to work under it then we have to say fair play and move on.

I like that he has high standards, it’s what made him such a success here last time.

You need help. Stop defending anything the club does and ask yourself honestly if they are doing a good job.

This last week (last four years really) has been an unmitigated disaster and some simply refuse to see it.

It’s bizarre that posters like you are defending keane so much

He didn’t wanna come

I think it proves he’s been talking utter bollocks about desperate to return to management like

And it proves he doesn’t wanna manage Sunderland

It only proves he doesn’t want to manage under whatever was offered, whether that was down to money / structure / personnel or something else i’m sure we’ll find out at some point.

Its not even the fact he’s turned us down for me, its the process is shite and no different to what SD & Cm would have done. To sack someone with no plan is amateur, for an owner to like instagram posts about Keane is poor, and they’ve killed any chance we had of autos

I just repeat me same post

I bet he’s been saying the same thing for the last 5 years now

It’s bollocks it’s why he’s been out of the game so long

What he want a red carpet and a 5 year deal?

This is management you’re in difficult situations, mostly appointed in relegation fight

I repeat he hasn’t had a job in 13 years! He won’t get a better offer

It doesn’t prove that

You think it’s just coincidence then that he hasn’t had a job in 13 years?

I don’t blame him. But if he wanted another shot at management, as he’s said openly, this was his chance. Maybe he didn’t really want it?

Personally I don’t buy the myth around him. Great footballer, but walked out on a World Cup (to prove a point), and he’s a total contrarian for the sake of it

He’d have been the best choice. But that’s not saying a lot.

You're not even reading what i'm saying and repeating yourself

you even started it with "Regardless of everything", just discarded everything i said and everything you can see and went back to your original dumb point.

Because you can not answer mate

Tell me why we are different to other league 1 sides considering this is our 4th season and tell me why what 12 other teams promoted and possibly 15 have done different

High standards? He didn't even move to the area last time round. What does that say to potential signings? It's also well documented he was hardly at the training ground toward the end of his tenure either

From BBC Sport.

League One side Sunderland will not be reappointing Roy Keane as their new manager, BBC Radio Newcastle reports.

I did in the first reply. You chose to ignore it.

He didn’t wanna come
Or maybe he did but in the end decided he couldn't work with the exec team. I know I've had interviews where I've wanted the job prior and thought, nah, this doesn't feel right and said no. It does happen

Of course it does, he was interested, the club wanted him, media were reporting he was close, the only reason it fails is they couldn’t agree on something. Its important to know what the “something” was

Mate.
He didn't want to come with the deal that was on the table.
If that deal(and we don't know) did not give him what he felt he needed to succeed, why would he take it. Nobody would, even if they were desparate to do it.

It shouldn't take 2 weeks for the club to come to that conclusion.
Either they are clueless (which they are) or just padding it out.
If you seriously want to sort it out you just ask what he bottom line is, its not rocket science and if thats not acceptable fair enough move on. It doesn't take 2 weeks to know the score.

Did you read my post?

I said that the club weren't firm with Keane, which I think is true. I was hardly defending the club, but I'm a bit of the sick of the narrative that Keane is completely blameless that has took hold on here.

I’m looking forward to Speakman et al explain this shambles to the supporters. Even Dodds and Proctor don’t want to be involved.
