Not Roy Keane

It shouldn't take 2 weeks for the club to come to that conclusion.
Either they are clueless (which they are) or just padding it out.
If you seriously want to sort it out you just ask what he bottom line is, its not rocket science and if thats not acceptable fair enough move on. It doesn't take 2 weeks to know the score.

The club have messed up the search massively I’m annoyed at them aye

But this is why keane hasn’t managed in 13 years
Mate.
He didn't want to come with the deal that was on the table.
If that deal(and we don't know) did not give him what he felt he needed to succeed, why would he take it. Nobody would, even if they were desparate to do it.

That’s the point

He never does

He’s looking for an offer that doesn’t exist

You think it’s coincidence he hasn’t had a job in over a decade?

Of course it does, he was interested, the club wanted him, media were reporting he was close, the only reason it fails is they couldn’t agree on something. Its important to know what the “something” was

It won’t be perfect, it never is. He is a bloke unwilling to make any compromises

He was very lucky to get this job offer he’s done nothing in a decade

And he will do nothing other than sit next to souness for the next decade either

No I don't mate.

He has high standards buddy, and very few are ever going to match them.

I happen to admire that.

He doesn't need to do it, but in this instance he wanted to.

I’m not sure he’ll get a better shot at management, especially after 12 years without a club. Hard to really say for certain what went on but I really can’t see a championship or even top end league one offering him a role. You’d think he’s switched on enough to know this so bugger knows what’s happened, he’s chance to say when he does that talk in with neville and carragher.

Time to get behind the new man and hopefully smash the play offs.

We were in position to spend last time he was here, as the rewards were worth it, promotion to the Premier league was worth the risk
League one to the championship is a different kettle of fish, and we either don't have a bottomless money pit anymore or we are bound by stricter rules, maybe keane felt he couldn't make it work with such constraints

It's done now we have to move on quickly

Admire it all you want the blokes deluded

It’s why he’s a comedy pundit on sky and not a football manager

Was extremely lucky we offered him it

High standards? He didn't even move to the area last time round. What does that say to potential signings? It's also well documented he was hardly at the training ground toward the end of his tenure either

Not all managers do.

Benitez didn’t when he was up the road. He would regularly commute from Merseyside.

Management isn’t always abojt being on the training ground. Alex Ferguson didn’t always take training at United and left it up to Brian Kidd or Mike Phelan.

He raised our standards when he was here last time. Read anything from the players at the time about etiquette and how they handled themselves through to what to wear and how the training ground and stadium were furnished.

Where's all this shit come from about 'high standards' come from? Do people think other managers come in with a different attitude or something man
High standards is s absolute basic for any job. He didn't seem to have that much high stsndards before when he hardly turned up for training

Like you said mate, we'll agree to differ.🤝
FTM

I just think the fact he hasn’t worked for over a decade is the key point

If he’d been in work loads then turned down Sunderland I think that argument would hold more weight

Even if he had speakman on his back and methven ringing him, he still won’t get a better offer

I’m annoyed at the club for not having this sorted the day after Johnson left and annoyed at keane that at the end of the day he’s happy at sky and can’t be arsed with management. That’s fine but I can’t take him seriously now! He’s just a comedy catchphrase pundit now

Anyway agree to disagree!

I did in the first reply. You chose to ignore it.

So you think that mentality is why we need a big name.
Since we have been in this league I have seen Lee Bowyer get a side promoted and Rotherham United previous. Rotherham if promoted this season have promoted twice while it may take us 4.
Why do we need a big name to get out this league

I also think he uses these high standards to disguise other failings. The Ireland thing was mental. He had a point of course, but he quit
Just don't get why that was difficult to find out... Should have moved on quickly if he did not want a dof or had insane demands
