Correct, it is a shambles.Keane has always wanted things done right, done professionally. Maybe he looked at it and thought not a chance, because from the outside it looks a shambles

Well, yeah of course he did.if keane doesnt want to work to a structure, i mean, did he not know the club use a DOF in the first place?
Yet Ipswich could afford him?
It will be about the financial backing for the project I guess Keene doesn't have faith in kld or Speakman and he wont let methman breathe the same air!
Perhaps he has found out how in the shit we really are and we have a shit plan to get out of it this with shit financial backing ..This is the lowest point in our great history and those clowns in charge of us need to go and give their head a shake ..
Lets see how the great communicator methman is going to spin this!
Aye, good DoF's. Alas, not many about in Sunderland at the minuteManagers who are capable of running the whole thing top to bottom are rare.
Keane didn't even appoint an assistant or bring in any scouts when he was here last time & did have control which is probably why so many of his signings were shite & never played. It's managers like that who've made Directors of Football a more attractive proposition to owners.
He brought in Tony Loughlan
That is not why Keane rejected us though, is it? I understood it was because they refused to pay compensation to get his backroom staff. Keane initially agreed to join.He probably knew, but what he didn’t know was the glaring levels of incompetence on show.
It’s one thing working with such a model, but imagine adhering to it and working with individuals with such low competence.
Let's all be honest, getting Roy Keane in would have been a reactionary, emotional appointment. He hasn't managed for ages and his track record does not guarantee any success.
I know everyone is so fed up with the Club/players/owners that they all wanted a 'rocket up the arse' appointment, but getting Keane in could have only made things worse for all we know.
Whoever gets appointed instead, just remember it's not his fault that he's not Roy Keane. Get behind him, show your support and review at the end of the season
Who are we getting? So - we've wasted 2 weeks and six points to bring in some average bloke who would have jumped at it on Day 1.
This is why you have a DOF ???
I think the last 17 on that one are the first 17 on this one.the original thread was locked and the last THIRTEEN pages deleted. it went up to 1174 and suddenly was 1161
must have been a lot of inflammatory comments?

If your theory is correct you have to conclude he wasn’t up for the fight and That we’ve dodged a bullet or two
Howard WilkinsonWho are we getting?
Yeah I think someone else doing the recruitment is the main one.Tbf he'd have been naive if he thought he'd get the same level of control that he had under Quinny. Surely though he approached it knowing we had a DOF.. Maybe he just couldn't work with someone else's player choices and little input into the selection process.

A fair bit of his second book was devoted to us and how he had unfinished business. Well Roy, we're at our lowest ebb and you've walked away from us, it seems. Far worse than giving it a go and failing. No I don’t but at this time this was the chance he claimed he had wanted for years.
