Not Roy Keane

Keane is a proper football man, who believes that if he is backed he can make the change to football club and in my opinion he is right. Was fully supported by drumaville and not by Short. So why would he want to come to club that wants him merely to coach the players and pick a team when he believes he offers so much more. He'll have wanted as much autonomy as possible.
he is netitled to want that..but he wont work as a manager agin if he wants it..because no one else will give it him

We’ll never know the true reasons. I’m sure in the years to come Keane will do an interview that will be close to the truth but not quite.

I’d be surprised if it’s money related. He knows finances are tight in League One.

My opinion is, he’s seen that we are cluster fuck from top to bottom and doesn’t want to be part of it.

He would love the job, he can't hide it, just look at his interviews, you can see it when he talks about another go at management.

It would be his last chance and he would need to feel he was in a competent structure to do well. You've then got to ask yourself why he would turn it down?
This is ultimately what it all boils down to. I think the issues go to or at least revolve Around spankman

Hi,

Like a few others who believed they were acting on sound information I am very sorry that Roy Keane has turned us down. My posts which to be fair always stated it was down to RK to accept where posted in absolute good faith based upon the same information received when I advised LJ was going to be sacked.

I have supported this club for over 50 years and whilst we have all had desperate times this is without doubt the worst I have ever felt. The last 10 days have shown how the club runs its day to day business. Sacking LJ which I ultimately agreed with is one thing, but to see how it has been managed since has made us a laughing stock.

I am done I really am.

Sorry again

Fair do's marra, when you stick your head above the parapet you either get the accolades if proven right or the brickbats if not.

Dont suppose you know the reason but I'd be interested to know whether it was money related or level of autonomy related. I suspect the latter.

He’d be quackers to touch us

The happy clappers helped take this club from the Prem to League 1. They used to say 'This isn't bad, I remember when we were in the old 3rd division'.

Never known a club of fans who accept such shite. Was the last ever protest against Murray if I remember correctly?

£26 a ticket for league one when there's plenty empty seats, absolute joke haha.

I stopped going to nearly all the games after the last relegation from the prem. I now pick and choose the odd one. Can't let a football club rule your emotions whilst funding the lives of football players who couldn't give a fuck about you or the club.

It'll all come out in the wash eventually.

One things for certain, it looks to me as though he'll likely be a lifer pundit now.

As I posted following last Tuesday night's debacle it seemed to me that it was likely that Keane would decline the offer of the job.

What stands out about the whole affair is how closely it paralles the the abandonded "Dell" takeover in terms of roumour, confident expectation, press coverage, nods and winks from the parties concerned & the eventual outcome

The thing is were supporting SAFC at a unique time in their history, we've never been worse than we are today. People like myself, and no doubt you might have invested 50+ years in both financial and emotional support. It's really grim watching the demise and I suppose we just want something to change and Keane seems the one more likely to effect change. Five year plans and the promise of jam tomorrow while getting humped off clubs who play at The Jonny Rocks or The Wham stadium who were non league not many years ago is really hard to take
Like yourself here, playing in same division as Cheltenham, Milton Keynes, AFC Wimbledon, Morecambe and Fleetwood. All traditional non league clubs. Ouch.

I don't think it's that mate. In some respects the worse they're playing when you take over the easier it is to improve it. I honestly think it's come down to how much say he'd have in how things are run.
Yep, to some degree. I think its once he has met the DoF and spoken about the coaches , maybe one or two other gremlins lurking in the dark corners, he has decided against and i wish him well. I cant get away from thinking he would have been the right man and the juice to geee things up for the promotion push. Now, we will never know ..One thing for me is clear, i didn't put any bets on us going up this season and I reckon, sadly, I'm on safe ground.

He’s not a pauper by any means, if he really wanted the job and was confident in his own abilities the length of contract and wages wouldn’t be deal breakers surely
They would be if they were 2k a week, for three months and then review it... that doesn't show confidence that they trust you to do the job, and he's not that desperate to manage again that he'd compromise in that sort of scenario I'd say. It's all speculation anyway... we might find out, we probably won't.
