Northern trains

Can pay on board. So I'll just be doing that if asked. Northern fine you now if you travel without a ticket
Hartlepool the other week ticket machine was out of order.
Offered to pay ticket bloke at gate n he said pay on board.
Nobody yo pay on board.
Nobody on way home either.

Would I feck have paid a fine given those circumstances.

Man, what a shambolic outfit.

I think I've only paid a few times. One a £20 fine🤦🏼‍♂️

If they had more carriages on the conductors would be able to get around. They're costing themselves money by not doing it

Said this for the past 40 years

what they used to was have ticket collectors at the top of the stairs at Sunderland station so no one got a freebie

but they’ve knocked that on the head bout 20 year ago

Tyne Wear metro when I lived back home about 15 years ago think I only ever bought a ticket once or twice

My mate had a blank one and if the ticky collared him he’d just say “oh I bought it at Haymarket but the ticket came out blank”

“Oh sorry about that sir I’ll get on to the maintenance team and get them to check it out” 😎

Grand central trains are back on andNorthern our 4 carriages on (10:31 from Boro) quite a coincidence isn’t it!

Nothing displaying on real time trains for the 11:31 out of Boro yet

am i right saying the Grand Central doesnt stop Hartlepool/Horden ????? and i wonder why the 11.31 isnt showing carriages on RealTime yet....thats surely got to be the busiest one ?

just checked further and yes the GC doesnt stop at the little stations Horden/Seaham etc...i hope the 11.31 out of Boro has 4 coaches , if not it will be a disaster....big crowd today and probably now we out of Plan B restrictions more people shopping socialising in the towns

Stops at Hartlepool but not Horden
I'm just on the train from York and a grand Central train left on time 5 mins ago

15 min delay for the 10.51 out of Billingham...

"We are sorry that the 10.51 service to Hexham has been delayed by approximately 15 minutes. This is due to waiting for part of the train to be attached." 😳 WTF man? I'll be asking the conductor what part...

Buffet car? Driver's cab?

Still, 4 carriages this week and got a seat. Happy days.

I'm on board now. It wasn't the buffet car.
Apologies for the duplicate bits above...

What’s the chances of getting on the 11:23 from Seaham tomorrow with the wind and usual piss poor service.
I don't think they've cancelled any services yet?

A usual matchday there isn't much chance if getting on at seaham unless it's 4 carriages though. I wouldn't plan your whole day around it. Too unreliable
