So what was the point in keeping us penned in at the station after the match until the train arrived? People said there’d be a mad free for all and a bit of a crush when they removed the barrier to the platform, why didn’t they just have a stronger police/Northern staff presence and let us onto the platform earlier??

Got a reply from the Hartlepool mp who contacted northern trains on my behalf. They replied with the usual excuses but they have reassured her that they are working to strengthen its Saturday 1031, 1131 and 1231 services by providing 4 carriages. We shall see how this works out.
I got the 14:21 Bolton to Horwich Parkway service (operated by Northern) on Saturday. There were 6 coaches (2 sets of 3).

The cancellation of the 17:13 to Manchester after Saturdays game caused me to miss my connection back to Euston, so I submitted a delay repay claim to Northern…..daft buggers have rejected it!

They don’t have a clue. Keep on at them as they’re liable for your full refund, depending on how late you arrived at your final destination.
