I mailed then after an old woman fell to the floor on the seaham hall bend, overcrowded snd nothing to cling to.I’m not reading their guff. I emailed them some years ago after a home game against Leicester City. When the train from Newcastle to Teesside pulled into Sunderland after the match it was rammed. Been using these trains for fifty years. I knew it was already rammed to capacity but we were herded on. Guards telling us to push up etc.
An old boy next to me was squashed and it was so hot he couldn’t breathe. He actually passed out and collapsed onto me.
We brought him round by slapping him and giving him water and the scenes inside the carriage were diabolical. I e mailed them and told them about this incident. At the time they promised a reply within 28 days, I got one after 42 days basically telling me they did not have any rolling stock to add to this service.
They then took two, paragraphs telling me how some day in the future the service woukd be improved when they took receipt,of stock deemed no longer suitable for the South. It didn’t state that exactly but that was what it meant.
I responded asking them if it would take a fatality before they upped their game, they did not reply.
I asked them if they saw this as dangerous and reply said its fine to smash a window in an incident. Wtf.
