North Stand

The club could easily move the vocal fans from the south stand and sweeten it a bit by making a new standing area at the same time, the willingness just needs to be there.

Eh? The north stand was the original home end. It was designed to be that way. The south stand have the police control box behind it and cells for the purpose trouble could be
You probably can’t remember but the South west corner was so popular for being so close to the away fans and it generated atmosphere that resonated around the ground , which other areas of the ground competed with.
It was certainly preferable to the away fans being placed in the top tier allowing them to throw objects on the home fans below.
They’ve reinvented the wheel putting them upstairs and caused the problems since

That was years though, I can remember well but there's not enough space for the whole South stand to fit in the SWC.

The North Stand is imo the worst stand in the ground hence it's usually the most empty, why move the issue elsewhere. Also, most the games the South stand had around 300 people in it with the rest of the seats empty which looked shocking whenever we were on TV.

What's the odds that we will play Newcastle in the FA Cup again? As every other FA Cup game no-one turns up, including many games where people have had to be moved (without complaint). The problem with this wasn't imo moving people, it was complete lack in communication. If the club, offered a free ticket elsewhere in the ground as a gesture of good will and explained why they had to move, this wouldn't have been an issue. Some would moan, as some always do, but the majority would have accepted it. Instead they pretty much went, you're moving, pay for it and that was that.

Where to? As no doubt whichever area they're dumped into won't be welcoming them with open arms.

Never lost against them when the were shifted from the lower bowl. I'd rather win/give our team an advantage and have a bit less back and forth about mini buses tbh. Presume yday was class? Might have been walloped but at least we had away fans in the lower bowl to sing at.

Them celebrating with the fans after goals and that daft team pic doesn't happen of they'd been kept upstairs also.

I was never after compensation for being moved. Maybe a letter to all fans explaining the rationale and apologising might have been something.

I think the away fans should go back to the south stand and make the north stand the home end. Looks so much better and is clearly the home end due to its size. The atmosphere was better as mentioned on previous posts. We need a proper home end as south stand not designed for that and the smaller end. Doesn’t make sense at all

Having away fans downstairs defo brought on the other parts of the ground, like NEC & NWC with fans standing and roaring on the players

Atmosphere generated from all parts of the ground was good to see instead of just a few blocks at the back of the south stand
That was because it was a derby not cos them lot were downstairs wont be like that when u have 300 away fans down there

Loads on here saying they can only sing when next to the away fans. Think they call it bouncing off. What will happen is the vocal lot will gravitate next to the away and the NS will be dead. Again. And we are back to square one. With a small section of fans trying to compete with a bigger away following (giving their team a lift). Or singing at empty seats.

The only reason vocal fans haven't shifted next to away fans currently is because they are upstairs.

I recall having many a discussion as to whether the away fans should be moved from the south stand to the upper north.

I disagreed with it then but my opposition was that in many games, a prime viewing area, was unused. It looked crap on tv and because of that lost revenue from advertisers.

It was also said, that in many grounds then, the away supporters were removed from the close proximity of the home goalkeeper. Therefore with the away fans removed, home keepers did not suffer as much abuse. It was not felt right that we should offer to away fans accessibility to be so close to abuse our keeper. I can recall reading that, but I do not recall where in the club it came from.

I do feel in the words of a famous song- Those days are gone now and in the past they must remain.

That is the way forward.

massive upheaval if it was to be changed and for what benefit. The north stand was never really that popular, especially when the extension was built.

Where do you sit every match pal ? Had your season ticket long ? Wonder how you would have reacted had it been your season ticket. How you would have reacted had the club treated you like shit?

I'm on the fence whether to renew at all, that's how much it's impacted me. Newcastle fans were getting exclusive f***ing gifts for buying BCB tickets man. And what do I get for pouring hundreds into the club every season , not just a one off like those idiot Newcastle fans ? I get absolutely fuck all. I get kicked out of my seat, I get fuck all in way of an apology, no way or compensation. Just absolutely nothing.

Sorry I tell a lie, if I wanted to sit in a £36 seat I would've got a £4 discount. Massive.

The caring club that looks after it's fans. Shameful
Like you I am strongly considering not renewing. I have already made the decision to not give the club any more money this season.

I have 2 BCB seats and the money I would save would pay for a second holiday, which right now seams more appealing.

I have been supporting the Club for 45 years and had a BCB season ticket 22 years ago. I have seen multiple owners over the years but never felt so angry as I do now. KLD is a smiling fox who no one should trust.

The constant blaming of others for club mistakes is weak leadership. He is a spoilt brat of a kid who most likely has always had some advisor or another to blame. We are just a game to him.

most people are creatures of habit. They like and will follow a routine when going to the match and when sitting in the ground, they like to sit with like minded fans. If they are going to sit next to away fans, they will get moved every match as of the various attendances of away fans or as you say, singing at empty seats. In any case they still risk being moved for FA cup games due to the up to 15% rule.

Fair play mate. Don't blame you in the slightest. Thing is, now the derby is over, the club will just go on like nothing even happened.

It’s all relatively simple to understand.

By purchasing a season ticket you accept the terms and conditions, which state you had no right to have the same seat for an FACup match.

You got the chance of another seat , that’s all you’re entitled to.

90 minutes in a different seat , but you want an apology and compensation.

Bearing in mind that the early rounds of the cups in general, thousands of season ticket holders don’t bother turning up anyway , which would have been the case if we’d played a lower league club.

Compensation ? , take the club to court then If you dont get what you want.

We have some morons sat in amongst us every week.
Clubs who sell season tickets in areas which could be moved for Cup matches should clearly state this when it's bought at the beginning of the season. Nothing like this exists for NS card holders.

They do.

4. Season ticket seat moves

4.1 The Club reserves the right to relocate the Holder or Nominee/Season Ticket to any other seat in the Ground at any time.

This might end this pointless argument once and for all.

I'm not sure they would nowadays personally. We need to designate the South Stand as the proper home end, put standing in there and actually acknowledge it's our home end now. Rather than trying to pretend that the North Stand is it, it's been a morgue for atmosphere since the stadium opened pretty much.

The South Stand should be our Kop, Gallogate, Stretford End etc which are all opposites side of the stadium to the away stand aswell. The family area should also be moved to extend it right across the stand as having the two together just doesn't make sense. Not the away stand.

The only people who seem to want the away stand moved seem to be non season ticket holders or conveniently placed in the North Stand.

That's a generic point they'll put in every year, but you're being pedantic on this because no one in the NS lower would expect to be moved. Especially when the NW Upper is empty, and 6 k could be house upstairs.

It looked class having the whole south stand on their feet for 90 mins yesterday. Get a standing section across the whole end asap

My dad and his mate's seat was given up for a black dividing sheet. Nice.

Imagine the thinking behind actively increasing the mags allocation at the expense of our own?

The annoyance of many displaced North Stand fans is based around the fact that the club made an unpopular decision without any consultation and giving them corporate facilities in the BCB was basically a piss take, something our fans would never have been offered through at their ground.

Then the signage people waltzing around unsupervised in the BCB putting up provocative NUFC related signs and photographing them and putting them on social media which was then portrayed to a national and international media audience embarrassing SAFC fans.

When you add this sort of hideous PR to the ongoing controversies concerning the ticket office and club shop, the inability able to buy SAFC kit as Christmas presents or indeed at most periods in the year, the unavailability of SAFC merchandise in Sunderland city centre, Washington, Durham City, Newcastle airport etc it is about time KLD sacked the COO Steve Davison who he presumably leaves in charge of daily club operations and who to date has attracted wide scale criticism and allegations that he is poor at his job unless he would like to make a public statement outlying the positives he has contributed and why he should stay in post for a moment longer. The silence over continuing problematic off field issues and the horrendous publicity leading up to yesterdays FA Cup game is simply unacceptable.
