Yes. Me personally I would support Shields. But my affection for Sunderland could never die.

If I could put this into perspective back in the early 70's until the early 80's before immigrating to Australia I visited 54 away grounds supporting Sunderland. Probably about 10 0r so supporting Shields.

I plan my holidays back to the UK around Sunderland games. Even including a 5 day trip for the Man City game at Wembley.

But if Shields played Sunderland in the FA Cup round 3 or beyond I would be absolutely 100% for South Shields.

South Shields people really support Sunderland by default is what I am saying. I don't mean this in a negative way. I'm sure that you have met Shields people that are Sunderland till they die but this is because the town has not been represented for nearly 90 years in the league.

It would be great if they were and to be honest I think that is quite a threat to Sunderland Football Club.
I am gobsmacked by this post tbh.

Its a mackem football team messageboard and you are making derogatory comments about mackems.
Bewildering!
I await a typical volley of your profanity laden prose. Normal vocabulary not being part of your posts it seems

The irony in a mackem trying to take the moral high ground is what I find bewildering.

Too many simpering fannies who spend every waking hour on an Internet forum.

Sunderland are and always will be number one for me. i travel all over the country supporting sunderland and have just once again put my name down for Swansea, a trip for only the most diehard supporters.

however, seeing my hometown do well is great and I have jumped on the bandwagon in supporting SSFC. i am the very definition of a 15er. do i care? do i fuck. the negativity shown by half a dozen or so mackems on here towards Shields is pathetic.

Make a new subforum for every club and every league in the world, and then hire 10,000 new admin to look after them all. Job done.

This.

Born and bred sandy and lifelong Sunderland supporter.

Watching Sunderland is no longer a pleasure. Struggling year after year is frankly depressing.

What is happening at South Shields FC is the very opposite and is gaining more traction and attention by the week, and who can blame people for taking an interest in a club on the up?

The bother started when a handful of bitter self -flagelators took it upon themselves to spam any and all South Shields related posts.
Impossible as it is for them to comprehend finding pleasure in something (anything) and begrudging others that do. Quite sad realy. They could be happy too if they left the safe haven of the computer...maybe to go to a Shields match...

It's not towards Shields. In the main, it's towards you and your ilk who are intent on winding people up and generally being mag like (stefan being a prime example).

this is a fair point. it's not SSFC that are bad, it's a handful of people who post on their threads. a minority that associate themselves with SSFC. you can't start dishing out shit towards mackems and not expect some kind of backlash on a SAFC board.

They can't take it mate. That stefan lad is wet as. By the sounds of it, he'll be supporting the mags next season.

What the 'shields haters' fail to realise is that if they didn't keep coming back on the Shields threads they'd drop off the first page pretty quickly anyway. No doubt if there was a Non league sub forum the likes of @gipetto etc would twist on that forum as well.

You are bumping a thread that you don't think should be there fella. Take a tip and don't bump the thread. Don't reply but I bet you can't do it

the blokes thick as pig shit.

Based on the comments in non league threads, there's a demand for a non league sub forum (like politics within the SMB)

It would stop all the non league threads turning into arguments which result in no one actually talking about the football.

Hopefully if there's enough people in favour the mods will listen.

Answers on a post card, would you be in favour of the introduction of a sub-forum for all things non league?

How much do Shields charge to watch a game?

Wish Shields well tbh however the zany threads need to stop about them. The ones about security and beam backs are tedious and add fuck all to the board. Absolutely nothing

It's like half the shite in Parsnip though, threads like counting to 1 million or whatever. I never open or post on them threads as i would find them just shite. Same as @Jocky hello lad's threads Simple really
