Non League Football

So final day of the National League then.

To most on here, bar @NewAdventuresInWiFi, the season is done with Pools safe, Heed in midtable and Macc have the title sewn up, but there are a few issues to sort out - playoff positions and more significantly, survival.

It's between Barrow and Woking for the final spot. Woking must beat playoff chasing Dover (live on BT) or they are down, and if they do, Barrow would then need to beat already relegated Chester to stay up, so definitely in Barrow's favour, but if Woking do get an early goal then it could be interesting / nervy.

3 teams have secured their playoff place, although more favourable positions are on the line. There's 5 (or 6 at a push if you count Wrexham) going for the final 3 places.

Just noticed that Sutton in third play Aldershot 4th, with the winner (or Sutton if they draw) going directly to the playoff semis so that's a big game! After that, you'd have to think Ebbsfleet should secure their spot and Boreham Wood should beat relegated Guiseley, although they've wobbled a lot recently.

Barrow doing their best to fuck this up, losing at home to relegated Chester. Hopefully Dover can hang on here.

Gerrin. 2-1 Dover and that's Cumbria's Barrow safe.

It is crazy. But understandable. The cup run and more particularly, the pitch has killed them.
Has to be addressed for next season.

I know what you mean, but some of the teams that have beaten them recently - Telford x 2, Gainsborough, Lemington etc off the top of my head, drawing NFU the other day, there'll be many more examples. Even Southport have lost about 5 in a row. It's looking like a point in any of those games and they would have been there but it's just a massive collapse.

2-1 now

It'd be a great achievement just to get there. Play offs will be hard, but they did win at Harrogate not long ago and pushed Salford all the way.

Yeah, they could lose 4-0 in the playoffs and I wouldn't really mind, it would just be a great achievement making them, but at the same time, a disappointment if they don't given where they were.
