Why are we talking about managing to finish 17th a few games into the season? Another complete write off, it's an absolute joke.
What were you expecting? Managing is about finding a balance between expectations and ability... the majority of our fans expectations don't seem to take into account the ability of our players

People so often overreact to scorelines, and a good first half performance becomes "shite" "worst performance for years" "this is the year we go down". If we are so shite why did we applaud them off at half time instead of the usual booing? I can't believe how so many supporters have forgotten the events of the summer which messed up our pre season, and are now turning on David Moyes before he has had a chance sort out the mess he inherited. If Moyes were to leave who do the cretins shouting for his head think we are going to get as a replacement?
There are too many amongst our support who I believe actually enjoy our demise so they can come on here with there "worst ever" comments. Like the OP I saw enough in the first half to give me confidence that we will gradually improve under Moyes and will be ok this season.

We matched a very good side until the opening goal (in fact we had them under pressure just before they broke and got the first) and bumped into a top class forward.

The centre half pairing are good, as will be the midfield two of Kerchoff and NDong once they get going. Look a bit light weight in the attacking sense but with Defoe we always have a chance.

Each season our aim is to stay in the division and I'm still confident we can finish 17th when you look at the teams in the division.
We were basically playing like strangers. Moyes needs to get them organised fast. We were shocking to be honest even before the goal which was always coming throughout the match.

Nee shit sherlock.

If Man City win the league it'll be because there is 19 worse teams in the league.
What I'm saying is, we can't rely on our own quality to keep us up. We'll have to rely on three other teams being worse than us. If the promoted teams have a decent year like they did last season, I just can't see how that's possible.

Its a marathon, a really massive one, and not a sprint. That said, we really are in a relegation battle.

It'd be canny to have to look over our shoulders rather than sprint past the last 3 in the final mile for once like

I sort of agree, in that we clearly weren't out of it by any stretch at half time, but there is something worrying about our teams crumbling. Allardyce seemed to crack it and yet here we are again. Concede a goal and everyone seems to go insane.

The thing that worried me about Sam leaving is you immediately lose that continuity, a new manager has to come in and no matter how good they are they have to figure out a way to play that suits the team and works with any limitations in the team/squad. We've seen this every time we've had new managers come in and it does take a bit of time to get things right.

I'm confident Moyes will get it right but we will drop points while he figures out what he needs to do and the players learn to play the way he wants with the new lads that have come in, I think that's just inevitable.

We played well for the first hour last night but the defending for the goals was a joke and then we really struggled when we were chasing the game. We seemed to be sitting back too far to be mounting an attack but not deep enough to be solid defensively, it looked like we just wanted the game to be over towards the end.
