No damage done

Both Hume and Cirkin were your Championship full backs and Hume always plays right back when you play five at the back.
The facts are we were missing 5/6 of our starting 11. That doesn’t detract from Leeds being the better side today, or guarantee we would have won if he had our full strength side out. I was impressed by Leeds today. But it’s strange you won’t acknowledge we were missing at least 5 guarunteed starters

The right back playing centre back often plays centre back when you play five at the back.

Geertrudia can play either CB or DM and has a £20m option on him.

Le Fee would almost certainly start out wide if you had a full team so you were only really missing one winger.

You actually looked better when you brought your two strikers of the bench.

The winger who scored and the full back who cleared it off the line would not have been playing had you been at full strength so you could have lost 2-0.

You probably did miss your AFCON players but most of them were replaced with expensive experianced alternatives not apprentice kids.

We were missing three guaranteed starters and two or three likely starters. That’s a big gap for any team to fill (though we knew it was coming RE AFCON players). The big difference as the poster stated is off the bench. The strength of our squad has allowed us to make good changes both in terms of personnel and shape to really impact games late on. Today, that option wasn’t there (because it was predominantly inexpensive players or apprentices on the bench).

We got the point with a poor performance and actually closed it down pretty well in the last 10-15 minutes. Leeds undoubtedly the better side from about 35 minutes to 80 minutes. Certainly deserving of your point, I think you taking all 3 might have been slightly harsh on us.

Leeds have shown recently, that they're playing good football, scoring goals & getting results, but we should take it as a positive, that despite having so many of our better players missing, and obviously not being at full strength today, Leeds gave it a go, but despite us having to select lads with previously little to no game time this season, we still got something from the game today.

We'll be more of a force, when we get our players back from AFCON, and with a few quality additions in the New Year transfer window, we can push on and try to secure a top 10 finish to the season.

Missing Ballard, Sadiki and Reinildo who would have started 100%.
Missing Talbi and Traore who might have started. Traore has certainly been in favour.
Missing Diarra our record signing who by rights should be starting if fit.

That's half the first team, and that's before mentioning having to play players out of position today.

We've done well.

Another weekend, no damage done. With so many players unavailable, we'll take that. Huge missed opportunity for Leeds. We are through December with only 1 loss, to Man City. Toughest month out the way and more than positively navigated.
6 players away at Afcon and Ballard out injured. How may teams could cope with that. All considering a decent result

I’ve read some shite on here but this is here is right up there 😂😂

We’re missing

Reinaldo
Masuaku
Ballard
Diarra
Talbi
Traore
Sadiki

We can’t rotate. We can’t rest anyone and we don’t have a lot of options to come in and change the game. We can’t even change formation at the moment.

All that taken into account and it’s absolutely brilliant point for us. Your full strength team against our gaffer taped team and bench and you still couldn’t beat us.

It is what it is, we had the team we had and we got a result. Leeds the better side today but sometimes the mark of a good team is nicking results when you are outplayed. We've been on the other side of the equation, too - Everton jumped out 1-0 but we were by far the better side from that point on and should've won, probably should've beaten Liverpool given the chance we had at the end(we've also been battered and held on for wins/draws, too). It's a tough old league and we aren't where we are by accident.

We have two goalkeepers, three full backs, four centre backs, six midfield players, three wingers and two strikers who are all of a similar quality, so if spread out reasonably
we could lose five players without it impacting the team and performance too much, assume it is the same for you. With five players out our bench could look something like, Meslier, Byram, Bornauw, Gruev, Tanaka, Harrison, Gnonto, Piroe, Nmecha. Who are all experianced players so I guess that your squad may be a bit younger than ours.

Full strength & we beat them easily.
Yep. If we play that game with a fully fit Ballard, Diarra, Sadiki, Reinildo etc we run them over. Leeds were basically full strength. They're only missing James and Longstaff, and they probably don't make Leeds best 11.

Flip the script the other way. Say we were virtually full strength, and we played a Leeds team missing 6 first choice players and 2 or 3 subs? They'd get absolutely tonked.

You have a good side, we have a good side. A point each, well done.

Actually a point further away from the relegation zone and 17th

Champion. Two good squads making a decent fist of it after promotion. Sunderland more so at present.

Masuaki and one of the wingers would not have been playing (unless you drop Le Fee) Diarra has been injured for months and would have been a sub. Ballard injury has nothing to do with AFCON so in reality 4 first team players missing for AFCON with two of them replaced with £20m Geertrudia and £20m Adingra.

Le Fee plays in the middle and usually Talbi and Traore are the starting wingers.
