They have a credible recovery plan with clear targets and early implementation steps. How long can a company keep sustaining such loses?![]()
The problems will be far away from the Mackems and the Geordies control.Well I still think that NMUK will survive, it did ok the 35 years I was there and whatever needs to happen will happen, the Mackems and Geordies there will make sure of it, they are made of strong stuff...
Mind you a lot of car makers are in bother even Porsche, so I am glad my Nissan pension is covered by the PPF...![]()
Bad news. It's been there a long time. You must be logged on to see external links
A canny lad I used to work with moved to work there, hopefully he's moved on. I don't think he liked it bar the cash. You must be logged on to see external links
If I worked there I would be hanging on for my redundancy as anybody who works there will be able to get a job at one of the Nissan suppliers straight away.A canny lad I used to work with moved to work there, hopefully he's moved on. I don't think he liked it bar the cash.
It's a blessing it's not shutting for well over a year. Gives folk plenty of time to put some feelers out and move on.
Depends on how long you've worked there I suppose. More than 5 years probably worth hanging on. Less than that you'll only get a few months money. If I worked there I would be hanging on for my redundancy as anybody who works there will be able to get a job at one of the Nissan suppliers straight away.
Aye but they could get a job at a supplier the day after they leave if they wanted.Depends on how long you've worked there I suppose. More than 5 years probably worth hanging on. Less than that you'll only get a few months money.
If only life was so predictable and easy...Aye but they could get a job at a supplier the day after they leave if they wanted.
A few of my mates hitting late 50's have been there for a good while and to a man they are happy to get out with some kind of lumpa. They have had enough and tbf it's not an easy place to graft. Much like Nissan and all the other suppliers I suppose. Best thing to happen to me was miserably failing the skills tests at Nissan when I was younger.Depends on how long you've worked there I suppose. More than 5 years probably worth hanging on. Well in this case it is.If only life was so predictable and easy...
It isn't. You could literally have Nissan making cut backs in 18 months time and the suppliers would follow suit. Nobody knows what's around the corner? You can't predict the future.Well in this case it is.![]()
OK Keith. I bow to your superior knowledge. It isn't. You could literally have Nissan making cut backs in 18 months time and the suppliers would follow suit. Nobody knows what's around the corner? You can't predict the future.
It isn't knowledge but life is uncertain. I started a good, new job a few years ago after taking redundancy. 2 and a half months later the administrators arrived and we were all laid off. I had to take a £10K a year wage cut just to get a job to keep the wolves from the door.OK Keith. I bow to your superior knowledge.
If everybody from these suppliers had the same idea then they wouldn't be enough jobs at Nissan/suppliers going for them all to walk into surely.OK Keith. I bow to your superior knowledge.
