Are the apprentices not on the same wages as the rest of the lads as soon as the come out of thier time? Or have they signed contracts that puts them on less basic pay.
In my experience, the young uns now come out of their time and immediately start looking elsewhere. There's loads of better payers than Nissan out there for maintenance lads

Heard from 1 of the seniors today, that he was hopeful that something is going to happen in regards to recap for man staff, wouldn’t elaborate but everything he’s told us has came off. Stand downs, stand downs been wiped, pay talks etc. so no reason not to beilive him this time. Although knowing Nissan it will probs be 35 years service

Served 14 year, not hoping but getting fed up like everyone else working there.
And tbh if they offered money to anyone those people would be crazy not to take it, company’s dropped a hell of a lot in past few years. I know an engineer in unit shop and he told me they have nothing planned in for in that shop after 2027 atm

600 quids overtime pay this month and this is supposed yo to be saving money
Be interesting to see where they get the engines from if there’s no work planned in the unit shop from 2027, does this line up with what most people are thinking and saying that the plant won’t be there in a couple years time

You mean the batteries they can’t build as Japan have changed something in them and keep going bang? Or you mean the batteries they only have 2 of where there building the new car taking them to the z plant and taking the battery back out? Them batteries do you mean?
