Nissan

I had to laugh with your reply, to say you find it a bit rich just because i don't work on the line bare in mind you have no choice where you get put and you don't know where i work and i gather you think everywhere is easy by your comment. Maybe you might of stuck it out for 5 months instead of 4 if you had been put on what you would call easy job.
Not saying every job in there is ‘easy’ but none will be the same as being a human robot on the line.

Why would you ‘stick it out’ in a place like Nissan when you don’t have to?
I don’t get why they don’t look at adjusting the shifts after all this time people’s unhappiness is. Clearly linked to the late shift hours . It wouldn’t be so bad if the backshift was went such shit hours and I think a lot more people would want to work there even getting away at a decent time on a Friday lates would make a huge difference to peoples lives would be like gaining an extra night of the weekend nobody wants to be stuck at work until 11 pm on a Friday
Here’s a clue mate - THEY COULDNT GIVE A FCUK

Because we’re just a number and they don’t give a f@#k. Just need to see how those that are retiring after 30 plus years are treated. No thank you’s or parting gifts, just walking out the gates as if it’s just another shift. ( so much for setting up
A group to look at recognising long term retirees) and those lucky enough to retire along with taking this recap are met with comments like ‘well you’re getting a lumper’

Had a lad start in the bodyshop that lasted till first break then just left
I started in the original bodyshop in the 80's on Bluebird(that's me with my ZX Turbo one in the pic in 1989) and we had new starters come in and leave pretty much every week, staff turnover was even higher in them days...
We used to show them the crack and quite often they would last an hour or two especially on the original long nights we did and say oh this is not for me and walk out..
One lad said is this all you do I said yes but about twice as quick as you are, crack on and he said f*** that I'm off back to Halfords... 🤣
TBF it was hard graft but I was only 20 so could crack it, I was determined to not let it beat me and after 3 years of that EVERY job I had after that in the next 33 years seemed a piece of p***... Most people had a different mindset back in them days though...
Problem is some people just don't want to graft, they expect their money for nowt even back then, and now is similar, especially the young uns that came in the last 7 years or so, most were more bothered about looking at their phones than doing their graft, some days my phone was red hot none stop and I'm sure I delivered more parts than the lads did just to keep the line going, made the day go quick though..
Yes some jobs were harder than others especially on or tied to the line full respect to those that have to do that but in the main it is what you made of it and it was all in your head I found - if you kept your nose clean, did your graft and got your head round it, it was bearable, certainly not a holiday camp (though worked with a few who tried to make it one for themselves!!!) and I lasted 35 years without a single day off on the sick through some hard graft and shifts so it could be done if you put your mind to it...🤔
I would freely admit it is not for everyone though so if you hate it, move on, life is to short to be stuck in a job you hate...👍

Can't keep people happy nowadays, moan when they work O/T and moan when they don't. Love to hear them when we used to build 500+ a shift !
