Him, and Bates, can't stay. Bowles has had four years and were getting worse.

Bates has been a disaster mind, the guy hasn't got a clue. He plays a slow, painful, conservative version of WCO. It's like the late Poyet version of tiki-taka.

Mac must be under serious pressure too - his big ticket FAs have been terrible and his draft work is patchy, at best. He's got more leighway than Bowles but not tons more .
